Gus's Diner One Eight Five — Restaurant in Cleveland

If you’re going to this place and you see a waiter by the name of CATHY run she is very rude and has a disgusting attitude.She came to the table and slammed out drinks down and threw the straws like we were dogs .At first I didn’t say anything. Then we ordered a omelette and home fries when we got it it had raw vegetables in it so we expressed our concerns…She cut us off and took the plate and stormed off .I waited for her to return with a box she never did so I went to the counter and asked for one and my check. She cashed me out and asked me to sign I clicked the no tip button because she had disrespected us from the time we sat down up until our order came out incorrect. She then later slammed the machine on the counter and aggressively gave me my card back and stormed off and said “YOU PEOPLE ARE SOMETHING ELSE” I was appalled considering the diner is in a mixed neighborhood and she’s been working there for years at this point I’m convinced this lady is prejudice and maybe the front isn’t for her if she feels certain people should come into the restaurant..The other two ladies were very understanding clearly because they probably know how rude and horrible their coworker is ..i wouldn’t take my dog to that place if she’s working she is horrible..Im quite devastated i allowed her to bring me up out of my hook up considering all the other things going on in the world ..My best advice if you eat here record your experience because that waitress needs...

We went in early enough that we had our pick of seating. We even were able to get close parking. We chose a booth near the back along the windows. We were waited on right away and coffee was offered and refilled during the visit when I accepted it. We took an extra few minutes to decide what to order as I had questions which were answered easily and the server helped me finalize my order including my special request. The server took the order on a digital ordering device at the table, instead of using handwritten notes. The food was served at the table very quickly, as I want to say within 5 minutes, and it was as we ordered and hot. My meal was delicious and the special request they handled just emphasized their willingness to make the customer happy. We spent time eating and asked for a takeaway box, which they provided on the spot so I could take with me the scrumptious leftovers that I couldn't finish before leaving. The payment with a card was effortless and seemed fair compensation. We left a decent(hopefully?) cash tip on the table. The staff was friendly and pleasant. Overall, this place impressed me. The time spent on this excursion was enjoyable and the food...

I used to love this place. Today though as soon as we sat down we noticed the coffee cups were dirty. Like so dirty theres no way you didn’t notice. I used to live right down the street and eat the belly buster almost every morning and it was always delicious. However in the past I’d say five years it’s been hit or miss big time this time. They brought me out my belly buster. I should have known when it came out in 30 seconds there was something wrong. The biscuits were so stale there is no way the cook who put my dish together did not notice how stale that biscuit was whoever it was just did not care. What a shame. Step your game up not sure if you noticed or not but there’s an upscale restaurant right down the street called the Standard unless you just don’t care I would step it up a little bit be that delicious diner...
