UPDATE: The owners of Krystal were very responsive and replied to my review within a half hour. They requested that I contact them by phone or through their contact page which I immediately did. Unfortunately, despite their quick initial response, I have yet to hear from them regarding this matter. It is very disappointing to know that a local business seems not to care.
I hope that the Krystal Burger on Keith Street doesn't discriminate against handicapped people but our experience there has me wondering. My wife and I wanted Krystal Burgers so we drove through the parking lot and saw that there were several people eating their lunches in the dining room. We parked and got my handicapped wife out of the truck and onto her walker. At 11:50 am we entered and walked right past the cashier to a table where my wife could sit while I placed our order. I returned to the cashier and the manager said, "The dining room closes at noon." Looking at my watch and seeing that it was still before noon, I told her I did not understand. She told me that, "we have a staffing shortage and the dining room closes at noon." I still wasn't understanding why we couldn't eat our meal in the dining room as there were other patrons still eating there so I asked her to explain. She said, "the dining room closes at noon so you'll have to get your food to go." Not wanting to support a business that clearly didn't want ours, I collected my wife and we left. I'm not sure why we couldn't eat in the dining room as I'm sure that we, along with the other people still eating there, would not have been in the way of a "staffing shortage" exactly at noon but I do know that there is no reason to treat people, especially people who are mobility impaired, in this manner. We all have our burdens and we all are affected by Covid, shortages and the pandemic. There is no reason...
Read moreThe food & service at this Kyrstal leave a lot to be desired, but I think that's pretty standard for Krystals. Only a few good ones standout in my memory, which is sad being that I've been to dozens of them.
I went just before the start of lunchtime, so I understand that they had to cook my Krystals; I don't mind getting hot & fresh food. However, the cashier rushed me away from the window with any sort of professional politeness or normal friendliness. The lady who brought my food to me at least smiled, but there were no napkins or ketchup in the bag, as I requested. I couldn't go into the store at the time, b/c my puppy was a bit nuts, so i went without. The fries were hot, but of course, not as good as they used to be before they changed the cut. (They used to be more like McD's fries.) The burgers were terrible. They were hot, but they had been jammed into the boxes, with what looked like a thumb-sized dent in the middle of all of them. It was as if they were shoved into the boxes until the employees thumb felt the bottom. They were also soaking wet - not steamed. I asked for the plain burgers to be put in a separate bag, but they were not, & they were not even put in the "Special" boxes. So, I had to look inside each one to find plain ones for my dog. None were plain, but it looked as if most of the onions & mustard had been wiped-off a couple of them.
It was also extremely expensive. Eight burgers, fries, and a sweet tea was over $18! This is the sort of crap that keeps me from enjoying the treat of fast food often. There was once a time that I would have still eaten at this Kyrstal twice a week, since it is my closest one, now that I live in Cleveland. Instead, I might give them a try every few years. I cannot say I was disappointed, b/c I didn't expect a lot, but this Kyrstal did not even try to meet my low...
Read moreI'm not really sure how long it takes to cook a paper thin piece of meat but I'm 100% Positive it doesnt take 45 plus minutes. I had the most terrible experience of my life at this Krystals restaurant. Which is saying alot because I have eaten at alot of restaurants from 5 star to mom and pop places. I have even had Krystals probably hundreds of times. I'll will make an effort never to eat at this establishment again, they had an underage boy working till who knows when past 10 at night which just so happens as a store manager I know this is illegal and will be reported. They had a lady at the front acting as if she were a manger with a terrible attitude griping at how many hours she's worked the last 4 days (16+ hour shifts) and doing nothing to help in all honesty. Then when the food finally did arrive the order was wrong and was only half corrected and just wasn't as fresh as you'd think a Fast food meal that took an hour to arrive would be. The fries didn't arrive at the same time the burgers did I had to go wait at the front of the store to get them as I watched order after order go Out the drive thru window. Then I had paid for an upsize on my fries and never got the large fries I ordered and when it was brought to the manager want to be's attention she literally argued that i didnt pay for an upsize. I let it go because at this point I was just ready to be in bed. In closing I urge anyone wanting Krystals in the cleveland Tn area drive as far as you need to to avoid this place at all cost. If that means going to Murfreesboro Tn and ordering a white castle. You would probably still get your food sooner making the 2hour drive there then you will if you drive 5 minutes and place your order here. P.s. Close it down if you don't have enough staff. And if I could give negative 5...
