Disappointingly Unexpected: A Review of Popeyes' Stand-Alone Establishment
Having visited numerous Popeyes locations situated within gas stations, I was excited to experience my first visit to a stand-alone Popeyes restaurant. My expectations were high as I envisioned a spacious seating area with a modern and inviting ambiance. However, to my utter surprise, this particular establishment fell far short of my anticipations. Despite being a newly constructed building dedicated solely to Popeyes, the interior was shockingly smaller than most gas station Popeyes I had encountered before. In fact, the place resembled an empty apartment, lacking the vibrancy and energy I had anticipated.
Even more disconcerting was the fact that, despite being just a few months old, the overall appearance of the restaurant gave the impression that it had been neglected for over two decades. The wear and tear on the interior was evident, leaving me puzzled and questioning the maintenance efforts put forth by the management. The young crew members, predominantly comprised of teenagers and young adults, appeared weary and disinterested in their work, which further added to the overall underwhelming experience.
However, I must commend Popeyes on one aspect: the food. The taste was undeniably great, delivering the signature flavors that have made the franchise popular. Sadly, the same cannot be said for the service we received during our visit. The employees made me and my family feel unwelcome, as if our presence inconvenienced them. Their lack of hospitality and enthusiasm left a bitter taste, detracting from the enjoyment of our meal.
Additionally, the design of the dining area failed to create an inviting atmosphere. Instead of feeling encouraged to stay and enjoy our meal, everything about the location screamed for us to leave. It was disheartening to witness the disconnect between the quality of the food and the overall dining experience.
While this visit left much to be desired, I am not ruling out a potential return in the future. However, if I do choose to visit again, I will likely opt for the drive-through service, as it seems more efficient...
Read moreWorst drive-thru experience of my life! I've only stopped here twice since they opened. Both times it was between 7-8pm. 1st time I sat at the drive-thru for almost 20 minutes. The black guy came on and said "I'll be with you in a minute. " After almost 20 minutes waiting, I finally said; 'Are you still there? " His answer was, "You don't need to be so rude, you just need to wait!" I said, "Fine, I'm waiting." After another 5-10 minutes, he says, "We're closed. " So rude! I pulled up to the window and said, "It's not closing time yet. " I saw a short, chubby black woman throwing french fries in the air from behind him. He said, "We don't have enough help tonight! And why are you so rude?" I told him, "I sat back there almost 30 minutes waiting for you to take my order! And got mad when i asked you what's taking so long. You're the one who is rude! You need to give me something for my wait." He handed me coupons you get out of a newspaper! I said, " Give me a free Strawberry Fanta." He did and told me I need to be nicer, that i was being so rude to him. I wanted to tell him that If the lady behind him would stop throwing french fries in the air and start working, maybe they would have enough help! I decided to try again last night. There was only 1 car in from of me. He was there a very long time. He finally pulled up, but no one ever came on to take my order. They never responded to my "Hello, can you hear me?" Finally a black lady walked out from a side door holding a head set and said, "My headset isn't working. You'll have to walk inside if you want to order!" Why couldn't i pull up to the window and order directly? No reason given. She just kept saying i had to pull around, park and come inside. I think the people they hire are all stupid and lazy. I've yet to successfully place an order! This place needs to be run out of town! They are the worst fast food place I've ever had the misfortune of trying to spend money at. My advice...stay away unless you want your blood...
Read moreThe service here is absolutely horrible!!! The older lady working the drive thru took about 7-8 minutes to ask me what I wanted then, scoffed at me when I asked for the 16 piece family dinner. She said, “ugh let me see how long that gonna take!” About 3-4 minutes later she came back and said, “Is that all?!” I then asked for an order of popcorn shrimp, she repeated me with an attitude, I also asked for some desert so she then said, “Is that it?!” When I said yes it was, “pull around!” I got to the window where I was ignored by all the workers while they were laughing/joking with each other and getting themselves drinks from the fountain machine. Finally after about 7-8 minutes the older drive thru lady said my total and kinda snatched my card. Windows slammed shut. She ran my card, handed me my food and I accidentally asked for some ranch. She stopped and looked at me as tho she was going to stab my eyes out, she turned got 2/3 things of ranch and dropped them in my hand. Then slammed the window shut before I could say anything else. I pulled up and the car behind me got their food and drink immediately. It was like I was waiting on their food to be fixed too before they gave any food out to people. I don’t know what’s wrong with her but she definitely needs an attitude adjustment and does not need to work there at all! She made me feel awful for ordering food from a restaurant that serves food. 🤦🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️ I will NEVER eat at this Popeyes again especially if I ever see all the same stuff happening before I even order. Lastly I got home, I was suppose to have 3 sides and surprise, surprise I was cheated out of 1 of them. That figures when you have workers that act like that and treat people like dirt for just trying to order food for their family after a long day of taking care of others themselves and they are getting paid to fix it for...
