Today I went to your location on Paul Hoff parkway. Cleveland, Tennessee. I went in and was sat down. My server was ZAK when he asked what he could get me for drinks. I had asked him for the platypus alcohol drink. I had handed him a paper id which is what you get while you wait for your main id in the mail. It is valid for id and driving cars. He told me he didn’t know and went and got his manager can’t remember his name. The manager told me he couldn’t accept it as a valid form of id. As pre policy. So I showed him my med id which had my date on it. I was born 02/03/2003 which was on the med id. He said I could get the none alcohol and he couldn’t give me the one alcohol. Now I understand that they have to take measures to insure they don’t serve minors. But at this point, I was just feeling disrespected. I didn’t want anything else to eat besides the appetizer I got. I then went and got my birth certificate from the car to see if I could get the platypus alcohol version. Again, I was told this was not valid. Last I checked only the date of birth mattered. When it comes to serving alcohol because the person has to be over 21. As it clearly states I am over 21 in my birth certificate. I was born 0203 2003. Why does it have to stated it on a piece of plastic for it to be valid? So y’all just accept fake IDs if it’s laminated. Because lamination makes such a big difference. The only difference between the paper ID and the laminated version is the fact that it’s plastic laminated. Literally starting to think people need to go back to middle school. I paid for my meal on the kiosk thing. I added 0 tip because this was a horrible experience. I’ve never had this problem at other service restaurants before. I had brought a designated driver with me as well because I had planned on having a few drinks. But since the waiter and manager wasted my time. I ended up just getting an alcoholic beverage at the gas station. Which took less than 30 seconds. She looked at my paper ID said it was valid and gave me my drink. Now that is service. I will, of course write a review on their Google page as well. Please remind your staff that the point of an ID is to show your birth date to prove that you’re over 21. If I have a form of ID that states I’m over 21 it doesn’t need to be laminated in plastic. It doesn’t have to be that...
Read moreAfter a 9 hour drive on a Wednesday, my kid and I stopped into this Outback after having fast food for lunch and it was a less than satisfactory experience. This Outback is clearly understaffed. There was no hostess at the front and we had to wait several minutes for a hostess to come up front. After we were seated, it took many minutes for the server to come by - at which time we ordered our drinks and meal. The drinks took quite a while as did a bread loaf - which kiddo ate 100% of in about a 10 minute span. Our meals took like 25+ minutes to arrive and during that time, the server did not stop by to check on us (before or after the food arrived). I ordered a salad with dressing on the side because I generally prefer less dressing than what normally comes on a dressed salad and several of the lettuce pieces had gone bad. I picked those out and ate maybe half the remaining lettuce. Kid had ordered the joey burger but had only eaten a few bites when he took it off the bun and had me cut it up. I took a small bite of the bun and it had so much pepper on it. The hamburger itself was so peppery it was practically inedible to both of us. Our server was covering at least 10 tables and we only saw her when we ordered and when she brought the check. I gave her a standard 20% tip because she was clearly working very hard - but I was not happy with the overall experience. The person who appeared to be the "front of the house manager" was observed goofing off with the bartender rather than providing assistance to the clearly overwhelmed waitstaff. The management should only seat the number of persons that can be provided service. If I lived locally, I would not come back. We could have had a higher quality meal, much faster, and much more affordably somewhere else. No one wants to pay a premium for slow, inedible food.
Two stars for server being personable and hard-working despite the circumstances. Restaurant appeared clean, though we did not use...
Read moreFood was absolutely on point.. it was between lunch and dinner so it was mostly empty and usually my preference. Service was the killer for me. We came into the restaurant as a group of 6 and considering the time felt no need to call ahead nor was it actually necessary. An hour and a half after being immediately seated, as the only table in our servers section for the first 20 or 30 minutes after being seated, the appetizers and drinks we ordered 5 minutes after getting seated came out. It was now that we finally got the opportunity to see our server and place our entree orders. They were brought out in pretty much the same time frame. 3 very unnecessary hours total it took to have a small family dinner on a rainy dead Saturday. Throughout the course of this dining experience our servers section slowly filled up and LITERALLY EVERY table seated prior to our receiving our lunchinners placed and received their orders and many had finished and departed by the time we left. I'm a very experienced in the food service, line cook ways and going ons from way back. I can say that this was the WORST Outback experience Ive ever had. I love this place and this will not deter me from enjoying a Blooming damn Onion when the urge calls but I will turn and leave before I ever sit in that servers section or get waited on by them again. People have bad days and I honestly tried to give the benefit of the doubt to them but I was very clear that individual clearly wasn't fully clocked in for our table this day and it showed. Love the...
