This review is for the delivery order I made through Uber Eats last night. I was originally not going to write a review, as I was just going to move on and never order from this restaurant again. However, after waking up this morning with food poisoning and sitting at the toilet multiple times at great lengths, I felt driven to write about my experience.
I regularly order from this restaurant as I thought their noodle dishes were out of this world. Pad see ew is my go to dish here, and generally they make it well with that beautiful wok hei flavor they incorporate with the dish. Unfortunately, 2 weeks ago, it came bland and poorly made. Overcooked noodles with lack of seasoning and poorly incorporated ingredients. I chalked up this bad experience to just a bad day.
What I received last night is an absolute insult to Thai cuisine. The Pad See Ew, I received was the soggiest, unseasoned stinkiest pad see ew I had ever seen. It had regular old broccoli that absolutely reeked with that classic smell of frozen nasty broccoli. The noodles were so pale I thought it was sunscreen with the most overcooked texture. I just do not understand how they had the audacity to serve this kind of thing to any customer, and claim it is good food. I could not touch this plate of food, and normally I am not such a picky eater. To top it off, the Sweet Chili Wings I received were not properly processed and still had hairs coming out of it. Against my better judgment, I ignored and ate around it, as I was absolutely famished. Now I am paying for this with multiple trips to the bathroom. I suspect mismanagement of ingredients is the reason, as the chicken was fully cooked through.
I am absolutely appalled at how downhill the food and the management of this restaurant went. It is unbelievable to the point, that I am for sure without a doubt a key individual at this restaurant is either on a long vacation or no longer with the business. I am not one to write scathing reviews, as I am a huge proponent of local businesses, and I would like them to succeed. I write this so that this restaurant can get their act together and at the same time warn other individuals that are considering this place as an option. I would stay away for sure, for...
Read moreEagle Thai has been my go-to spot for the last five years, and I can’t believe I’ve never left a review until now! This place is where I first discovered tofu, and it completely changed the game for me. Their garlic sauce is absolutely incredible — rich, flavorful, and so satisfying. I always order tofu and veggies in garlic sauce with jasmine rice, and I make sure to ask for added carrots. Sometimes I even request extra sauce because I like my rice to stay perfectly moist — they never disappoint!
When I’m extra hungry, I treat myself to their chive pancakes. They look like crispy rice blocks but taste like scallion pancakes, and they’re a must-try. Just don’t skip the eel sauce — it takes them to another level.
Drink-wise, you can’t go wrong with their lychee lemonade — it’s refreshing and perfectly sweet. Their hot tea and hot honey ginger are also great choices, especially when you’re in the mood for something warm and comforting. Just a tip — they don’t carry brown sugar, so if you’re avoiding white sugar (like me), ask for honey instead.
My daughter swears their pad Thai is one of the best she’s ever had, so I’m required to bring her a plate whenever I visit without her. And my husband? He always gets the Thai fried rice — and then proceeds to eat off everyone else’s plate (can’t blame him!).
Customer service is always on point, whether we’re dining in or ordering delivery. We’ve yet to receive anything other than exactly what we ordered, which says a lot about their attention to detail. The only complaint I have is their outdated interior decorations and menus — but honestly, that’s fine with me on my “not so dressed up” days.
Eagle Thai has become more than just a restaurant for us — it’s comfort food at its finest. The consistency, the flavors, and the warm service keep us coming back....
