I went all over town in search of a Mexican restaurant for Cinco de Mayo and all were closed except this place. And the line was super long but I had placed an order and was alerted that it would be ready for pick up by 7:30pm. Super long story short, people were waiting for over 4 hours for their food. The restaurant closed its doors but people still waited outside. After waiting for two+ hours I decided to ask if there was a bag that was not picked up by other person, because by this time...staff told us to just place and order in person as all e-orders were cancelled. Staff handed me something that was around the price range I had ordered. Life is different now since we are in the pandemic. And this experience is something I will remember for a long time. Food was great! And I have to say although it was not organized well, I was still happy that one Mexican restaurant was opened for people wanting Tacos for their Taco Tuesday on a Cinco de Mayo.

I had a very positive dining experience at Viva Margarita at the Cliffside Park location. The restaurant has a parking lot. I did not wait long before being offered by a server to sit at a table or at the bar. (I opted for the bar.) The happy hour prices here are hard to believe--$3 for a tequila shot; $4 for a frozen or iced margherita (HH menu as of August 2024 posted.) The bartender offered chips and salsa and took my drink order. I had the chimichangadas with ground beef. It was delicious. The rice and beans were also right on. This is an informal setting with a prominent Mexican cultural theme and lively music playing in the background. A good choice for a fun, casual night out, but not recommended for a first date. Food and service were great, prices are reasonable. I'm definitely coming back!

Love the decoration of Viva Margarita. It brings out the many colors that are typical of Mexico. Beautiful. We were a group of 6 that came for lunch. For starters we had the Guacamole with the chips they provide. Their guacamole is amazing. We ordered: Burrito 🌯, taco bowl with salmon, california tacos with chicken and Enchiladas with green sauce and shrimp. Everything was good. For dessert we had faln and tres leches cake. Yummy. The waiter was diligent. The place is clean. Their homemade lemonade was not bad.

THIS REVIEW IS FOR VIVA MARGARITA.. THE CLIFFSIDE LOCATION. DESERVES NEGATIVE STARS!

The worst and most unprofessional and unpleasant customer service I have ever had to deal with from a restaurant. AND for the cherry on top it was coming from the “manager and owner” of this establishment. I can not even fathom how someone who owns a business can even think to treat a person or customer the way this lady spoke to me and the way she handled this situation.

I made a reservation a week and a half ago for a birthday dinner and called the day before to confirm that everything was all set for my reservation. THANK GOD I CALLED. Because imagine if I would have went there with my party... it would have been a whole different situation. So I called to confirm and the lady I was talking to began to tell me how my reservation was cancelled with no reasoning at all, and without even a phone call ... and when I mentioned how I never got a phone call the lady I spoke to said “yes I know and I know this is very unprofessional” she repeated “this is so unprofessional” several times; which only confused me even more. How is it that they know how unprofessional this was and still continued. The lady then mentioned that there was nothing she can do, she would speak to the owner. Once she said that I asked myself to speak to the owner... and this is where it all went 100% left.

I waited for the owner to get on the phone and when she did I began to explain to her how i had a confirmed reservation that was cancelled without me being notified; she DID NOT even let me finish talking before cutting me off and screaming about how it was cancelled and there was nothing she can do about it. I asked to speak with the actual owner cause I could not believe that this was possibly an owner of an establishment. And she went on with a horrid entitled tone cutting me off again and said “ I am the manager AND I AM THE OWNER” and continued with repeating that the reservation has been cancelled without even allowing me to finish my initial statement. And with the most disgusting attitude ever. I myself run a business & know this is 100% not the way someone should be speaking to a customer and so I told her that and she then hung up the phone on me while I was talking and blocked my number, this I know because I tried to call back several times and got a blocked tone.

I literally can not believe that this happened to me. But then again after reading all the other reviews I see that this is something that happens often. Many people have complained about the manager at this establishment and I wish I would have seen that beforehand so that I wouldn’t be so shocked at how I was treated. I can not believe she is even in business still. And can not believe that someone put this disgusting attitude at the fore front of a business. This is not how you handle such a situation & this is not how you speak to a person let alone a customer at your business. This was just all around such a disturbing experience I am still livid from it all. And also still blocked. As soon as I find a way to reach out to the business I will find out the “manager/owners” name and update this review with it. Because everyone should be aware of the unprofessionalism. And the name behind it. Run away, far away from this place. This place stays empty with reason.

Thankfully, I found a last minute spot that was absolutely amazing. You want a good Mexican spot go to “Rosa Mexicano” in Hackensack. Customer service was amazing, so was the food! This place was the bright side of all the drama from this horrid Viva...

Long story short , I ordered thru the phone for pick up and im so used to ordering online and paying for food via app that i forgot i didn’t pay for the food. When i arrived the girl handed me the food and me not realizing i didn’t pay began to walk away. The girl said hey! I stopped, turned around and she says You didn’t pay for your food. I look at her and jokingly say i almost got a free meal. She must have felt so dumb (its a mistake on her part.. but things happen) she took it out on me by asking “do you even have enough money on your card to buy the meal” (meal was $12) LOL The disrespect i felt.. because YOU made a mistake and handed me the bag of food. I didn’t wan’t the food anymore because of the disrespect. Manager came over and defended her by saying it was extremely busy (Literally nobody was in the resturant) Its just hilarious to me that someone can make a simple mistake as she did and instead of taking accountability and laughing it off she tried to be snotty and ask if i had enough money for a $12 meal. Afterwards someone in the kitchen came out into the parking lot wanting problems.. When i asked if there was a problem he got all soft… This place won’t be open for long. I live around the corner and its never busy. Food is mid at best. Only busy when its cinco de mayo. I give it another year or two tops before its closed for good and it makes sense when you have morons asking if the customer has anyone money to pay for...

Starting with the good the atmosphere was real nice and the chips were good as well as the guacamole. Probably my favorite was their margaritas although it was margarita day so they charged only 6 bucks per one (very good but not enough for me to pay the regular price outside of that night) the bad starts when the main courses arrive. Aside from the burritos being small, they were just tasteless. Barely tasted the meat or cheese and it was just like filling yourself up with not much actual pleasure. Had to order another meal afterwords to be full. With the amount spent should not have to order another 2 plates of food just for myself. The service was good but don’t throw a soda can at me when I order one that means no free refills. Stick to fountain soda so I don’t have to ration my drink would be the advice. This is a place to go for drink and margarita lovers, but I would not come back for the food as I didn’t taste much. In terms of taste I’d prefer chipotle not to mention bigger portions for a cheaper price. Could be a decent place for a night out but like I said, not a restaurant type food experience more like a bar. Not really for me unless they keep the marg prices at 6 then I’d come back for drinks! Not the food which reminded me of tasteless high school cafeteria food. I’m no cook by any means but someone’s gotta go back there and manually season the meat or add...
