Doner Jee — Restaurant in Clifton

I do not recommend this cafe at all, it is a pity that I am writing such a review, because in reality in New Jersey you rarely meet such an outrageous attitude towards customers. We came to this place for the first time, and I did not like everything right from the street, without going inside, because it looks old and without proper repair. When we went inside, the interior also looked unsightly, I wanted to leave right away. We ordered lentil soup, it looked good, but when we started to eat it, some black flakes rose from the bottom of the plate to the surface. At first we thought it was onion, but unfortunately it was not onion but some kind of garbage. They wanted to replace it with another lentil soup, but we refused, on top of everything they did not apologize and did not explain anything, apparently this is the norm for them. They did not include this soup in our bill. The bread they brought also did not look very fresh. The doner itself was not bad. But there was no appetite or mood anymore. When we were leaving, no one even came out to see us off, we left alone. There were also no visitors during the time...

I stopped by Doner Jee today and was really impressed. All the authentic doner places are in Paterson, so it’s great to finally have a place in Clifton!

I had the doner over rice and it was excellent. Fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked.

The owner was super friendly and made me feel welcome right away. The place is clean, bright, and has a nice vibe.

You can tell they care about what they’re doing, and they deserve way more attention. I’ll definitely be coming back and bringing friends. If you’re in the area, give them a shot, you won’t be disappointed. I forgot to take pictures this time around but will try to update next...
