On May 12, 2023, at 10:30 AM, I politely requested assistance with the check-in procedures from the front desk receptionist because I am unfamiliar with them and my daughter typically handles these things for me. Since I don't know any English, my daughter is actually the one who is filing this report complaint on my behalf. A LabCorp staff has never treated me so inhumanely in my life. This was my first and final experience with a LabCorp location on Clifton Main Avenue. The front desk receptionist gave me a very rude response in Spanish, saying "that's a very easy process to do and she doesn't understand why no one knows how to do it." I've never felt so important, helpless, and worthless. She then said, "that she will help me as soon as she's done with the other people and I have to wait," but in a very irritated manner. I left right away and made the decision to travel to the LabCorp on Clifton Avenue. There, I was treated with dignity and respect and handled by a great woman who works there without any problems. I also opted not to respond to the harsh comment made by the LAB CORP in Main Avenue’s receptionist. Because my daughter is an advocate for me and would have never allowed it to happen given that she is studying human rights and is headed to law school, this circumstance made me want to keep her close by at all times. I'll be waiting for a call back from someone who is apologetic. Your company should not have a woman like that working in your facility. I'm upset that I was unable to get the name of that employee from the Main Ave., LabCorp, but I was so upset that my blood pressure rose and I experienced so much emotional distress that I just ran out of there and I was unable to get her name. Read moreI went to the location at 1139 Main Avenue in Clifton, NJ, on June 13, 2025. My doctor, located nearby, recommended I get lab work done. I tried to speak to the receptionist around 11:00 a.m. to get information about my test and if my insurance was accepted, but she immediately told me to go to the automated appointment machine next to me. She was very frustrated with the amount of work. After doing what she asked, I asked if it was a good idea to get the blood test done because I wasn't fasting, but she replied, "Sit in your chair and wait for me to call you." I sat there for a while, but then I went back to the window, which was closed, and although she saw me, she didn't open it, so I had to knock. She said, "There are so many people here, I have so many things to do." Seeing my expression, she tried to change her attitude, but it was too late. I just wanted to get some information before getting tested, but I didn't receive good service. I can't say if they treat everyone like that all the time or if they just need more people at the front desk. But we're patient, and we're requesting a service that we're going to pay for. Labcorp is hands down the worst medical service provider I’ve ever dealt with. The experience was a complete disaster from start to finish. I scheduled a 9:15 AM appointment, only to receive an alert at 9:11 AM—four minutes before my time! What’s the point of making an appointment if they can’t even send a timely reminder?
When I arrived, the staff at the front desk told me to "sit down and wait," completely ignoring the fact that I had an appointment. The workers were too busy gossiping instead of helping patients. I even saw a poor child crying because they had already been poked five times, and one of the techs said something so cruel: "If you keep moving, I’ll poke you five more times." That level of unprofessionalism and lack of empathy is unacceptable.
Labcorp, as a whole, needs to be shut down or completely restructured. The staff are lazy, rude, and unfit for patient care. They clearly don’t prioritize patients and seem more interested in their personal conversations. I’ve never experienced such terrible service, and I will never go back.
