T C's Country Kitchen — Restaurant in Clinton

When we entered the restaurant there were only a few patrons and we got to seat ourselves. Our waitress came over and gave us menus and asked what we wanted to order as she handed us the menu. Then she proceeded to reach back for the menus without us even having the opportunity to look the menu over. We ordered quickly then went to the salad bar to get our salad. All the salads were very tasty. I especially enjoyed the coleslaw. When we were about done with our salad our entrees were brought to the table. Our drinks made it to the table by the time we returned with our salads and I tried to wave our waitress down because my cup had a leak from the bottom and it was getting on the table. She just looked our way several times and finally came over. My husband said we needed napkins. And she bounced off quickly and returned with a couple of knives. Then I asked where our rolls were and she said that she had to go check if they happened to make any. She left and never came back to our table again until we were close to done eating. This is when she delivered our rolls finally. The chicken fried chicken was delicious, the corn was cold with no flavor and the roll was rock hard and we didn't get butter like the ladies at the table next to us. All in all. TC's is just not the place for me. The meat tasted remarkable but the sides (except the salads) need some work. The waitress was their biggest downfall. Good service is one of the easiest jobs. So I was recommended this restaurant by the hotel im staying at (as they seem to have some kind of business relationship). Let me start by saying the service was excellent. The staff were all very attentive and nice.

Unfortunately the food left a lot to br desired. I was looking forward to a nice steak, mashed potatoes and green beans. Hard to mess it up generally. They offered a sirloin but it was only 6 oz, so I went with the 10oz ribeye, listed at "market price" which i thought was odd but hey im willing to pay for a nice steak accordingly. Unfortunately what I received was the lowest quality ribeye, if it even was, that I have ever seen. In my town they serve these as a steak and egg ribeye and you know it's going to be a pretty sorry piece of meat but they also charge a relevant price. The mashed potatoes are instant and gag worthy, and the serving of green beans was tiny.

Tc's kitchen used to be a good place to eat bit ever since the new owner took over a couple of years ago this place has went down hill. They never have the food I want that is on their menu and now to top it all off they are now charging $1 extra on everything on the menu because of rising food cost but yet nowhere else seems to be doing this. I mean I understand rising food cost and all but if you can't have the stuff on your menu in stock then take it off of the menu and if you don't have the stuff on your menu in stock then don't charge the extra dollar on everything it's that simple then not to mention the food quality has also went down hill since the new owner took over so all in all after going there many times since the new owner took over I do not recommend and the only reason I am giving it one star is because the staff aka waitresses are always nice friendly and helpful because they have to literally go through the menu to let you know what they actually...
