Whitten Inn — Hotel in Clinton

I did not have high expectations when I chose Motel 6. Never stayed in one, just word of mouth discouragement, but I just needed to sleep and wanted to do it as cheap as possible. It's always concerning what you will encounter at a hotel/motel, particularly with bed bugs. I arrived at this Motel 6 late at night and my reception was kind and accommodating by the clerk. First good sign. He was very nice and personable. I wish I remembered his name. He did apologize saying it may be possible that the room I was going to stay in may not have been swept, but ensured that everything else wld be in order. I entered the room to find that it was just fine and very tidy with crisp sharp corners to the bedding and appeared surprisingly and relieving-ly clean. My expectations were exceeded. I pulled down the bedding to inspect. Perfectly clean, taught, white sheets. And it WAS swept. Because he said that, I scrutinized the floor, otherwise I wld not have looked so close but not a spec of even dust on the hard wood floors could be found. I was very impressed and very grateful for such a simple, clean room to sleep well in during my long travels. Hats off to Clinton Motel 6. Well done. Good job, guys. I'll remember you on my way back. My significant other stayed here before and things were okay...so we decided to stay here again...only thing that made us leave was because the front desk couldn't give a straight price and tried to give a higher rate even when I stated the rates online didn't comply with what they are charging for the same room....so we left and went to one of the worst hotels in Clinton, Oklahoma and that was the Tradewinds down the street. And of course they own that one as well... How did the lady at Tradewinds know which hotel I was telling her about that tried to raise the rates....but she named it right of the back...and I knew then we should of left from there.....Such Dishonest Owners In This Area...You would think as nice as Clinton is they should NOT have these crusty hotels open for business. I feel all of these raunchy hotels on this street needs to be pushed down and never rebuilt !!!! Save time and spend a little but more money to be in a room that doesn't smell like cheap stale corn chips or the scent they're personal rooms smell like..... This is ridiculous for places like Tradewinds to be open at all !!!! BBB should be contacted about these businesses! Nasty and...

My husband, dog, and I travel very often. We always stay at motel 6 because they allow dogs. We know what to expect when it comes to motel 6. We don't expect a 5 star hotel or anything. Just something cheap and clean. We drove for 15 hours and decided to stop earlier than we planned and that's when we found this motel 6. (We stayed on Nov. 23, 2018) This was the worst experience I have ever had while staying at a motel 6. The room was big but looked and felt empty. We got in very late to find a large roach under the bed. My husband squished it and we decided to just go to sleep instead of complaining or switching rooms because we were so exhausted and figured other rooms had roaches as well. We woke up and got ready... Digusting! Bathroom was nasty. And the shower was horrible. The shower head was too short and I am only 5'5! It also pulsed with hot and then cold water every second. Hot then cold then hot then cold. So you don't get to choose your temperature. As we were getting ready we found another large roach and 9 small roaches. (11 roaches in total!)
