SURPRISINGLY aggressive customers overall in the drive thru line, and a MANAGER and POLICY that IS UNFLINCHINGLY RIGID and OVERLY SELF-RIGHTEOUS ABOUT THE SO CALLED "REFILL POLICY." PLEASE! YOU WERE EVEN GIVEN A TIP FOR SIMPLY DELIVERING FOOD THRU A WINDOW (GRUFFLY.)
OH.YES...AND I DID OFFER TO PAY FOR THE REFILL AT THE END OF THIS DEEPLY DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE.
I was given a refill BEGRUDGINGLY after going thru the drive thru a SECOND time but THEN READ THE RULES STERNLY by EMPLOYEES AND THEN THE MANAGER TOO!!!. I WAS OUTRAGED at the TONE and VERBAL SPANKING I WAS GIVEN for VIOLATING PROCEDURE and NOT KNOWING THE RULES. NEVER BEEN TREATED THIS WAY AT ANY STARBUCKS in another more relaxed state...very surprised to find unhappy and uptight customers and staff at this location of Starbucks. They won't need to tell me their rules again here because I will actually go ANYWHERE ELSE NOW for a MORNING COFFEE and SANDWICH (11 DOLLARS and JUST TERRIBLE VALUE for a LITTLE SQUARE of FLOUR with some cheese)...find a gracious mom and pop independent coffee spot and save yourself from this SHOCKINGLY UNHAPPY PLACE IN THE NORMALLY HAPPY AND GENEROUS IOWA.
It was the LOW POINT of an otherwise great experience in Iowa for this west coaster. NOW...ANYTHING BUT STARBUCKS IS GOOD TO ME.
YOU CAN KEEP YOUR REFILL POLICY and I WILL SAVE THE 11 BUCKS OF ANXIETY, ANGRY AGGRESSIVE BEHAVIOR and MEAN DRIVERS TOO at this LOCATION... YES!!!...EVEN the CUSTOMERS LOOK MISERABLE going and coming here...SOMETHING IS VERY WRONG WITH THIS STORE....I WATCHED the procession for 30 minutes, observing MANY DISGRUNTLED CUSTOMERS going thru the drive thru and running in and out of the door grabbing their overpriced burnt and bitter but WEAK caffeinated drinks. NOBODY WAS SMILING ABOUT ANYTHING... JUST GO ANYWHERE ELSE and STEER CLEAR of this UNHAPPY OVERPRICED PLACE. Anywhere will be a better choice....sorry Starbucks...I'VE FINALLY GIVEN YOU YOUR LAST TRY because of this weird and UNEXPECTED EXPERIENCE IN THE USUALLY WARM...
Read moreThis is THE BEST Starbucks there is!! I will change my route, or plan my errands so that driving to this location makes sense. I have had multiple instances of excellent, amazing service and honestly, this review is long overdue. Anytime I have ever had a less than perfect drink, it has been fixed or re-made no questions asked and I have never been treated less than amazingly- shout out to Sydney today who was so kind and helped me correct my error without missing a beat.
One experience that stands out to me, and speaks to how long this store has been on top of their game, was when I made an order for pick-up; I reached for my coffee on the counter, I grabbed too close to the lid, popping the lid off and losing my cup! I was so sad and a bit embarrassed. I immediately looked around for napkins and tried to pick up the ice cubes and a lovely barista comes running out with the mop saying not to worry about it and cleaned my mess promptly and with a smile. I felt a little bit better and tried to help with what I could- I went to the counter and asked if I could order another drink and I was told they were almost done making it already, no need to order or pay again. As someone who was having a rough start to their day, this level of customer service and general kindness made me feel SO MUCH BETTER and changed the tone of my day. This was about two years ago, and the service has been that great for years before and ever since.
I always get a cold brew with cream, and different locations think that different amounts of cream are “normal” and that can be a huge bummer and lead to inconsistency with the same drink order, but this location makes it the best. It is consistent no matter who makes the drink, which is hugely important in my opinion.

We know it gets busy however, slow down and take your time. Great service, but my coffee was not made to my satisfaction. White Chocolate Macadamia cream cold brew with an extra shot of expresso and caramel drizzle around the cup and on top my foam. Have the Macadamia nut sprinkles is like the cherry on the sundae. Where is my cherry and I did not see her shake it on top of my foam but told me it dropped to the bottom of the cup. Ma'am I saw you make my drink...but I'll take it and let you believe I got it in my cup. Ya really have to hire people with integrity. Yes, I'm a regular Starbucks drinker not new to this. Do better ma'am. White shirt bi racial with the puffy pony tail. That when I ask for my drizzle you put it on because you forgot. Incase you don't remember rather short black man with white v neck shirt and black shorts. Do better. Take your time we won't be upset if you make our drinks the way we want it.
