I think I’ve found my new barbecue place! Yummy I must say. You’re in for a long one readers …
The employees on todays visit were all super nice. Provided recommendations based on my mothers preferences. This time I (we) tried:
Pulled Pork - 5 ⭐️ the port is juicy and and smoky just as it should be. You don’t even need BBQ sauce. I’m sure the sandwich is delicious as well. It’s hard to find pulled port that doesn’t have too much fat. Their pulled pork is perfect!
Boneless Ribs - 5 ⭐️ sometimes one thing that sucks about ribs is not knowing if you’re going to get enough meat. The boneless ribs are excellent. The they do not disappoint. You get all of the benefits of eating ribs not hanging to hassle with the bones. The portions are generous. It’s definitely more meat than you’d get with 3 bones. (I haven’t tried the bone in … but it this is easier for us ladies) the sauce is delicious … perfect amount of sweetness to complement the meat.
Brisket - 5 ⭐️ OMG! Talk about tender and smoky meat. It’s so tender much chewing isn’t required. Definitely someone that will be come my standard. Smokey and tender as it should be. Yum!
French fries - 5 ⭐️ I am a french fry freak. I love fries … over the burger or whatever I’m eating. The fries are perfectly crisp and seasoned to perfection. I get them for my son, but I end up stealing a couple of fries because they’re so good. Out of all of the burger stands and restaurants, Chucks has the perfect crinkle cut fries. They’re addicting actually. Get some ranch on the side and you’re in heaven.
Banana pudding - 5 ⭐️ OMG I love banana pudding. Theirs is very rich and with the price. It’s nowhere near generic for sure. Probably the best banana pudding I’ve had. (I’ve made the easy version and the baked version …. It’s GOOD)
Jenny - 10 ⭐️ what an amazing owner. She cares about every customer. She is very approachable and generous. I had a nice conversation with her today … she’s super down to earth and takes care of her clientele. I wish more owners were like this.
So, next time, which will be soon, I am coming back for the tri tip fries. I love that the prices don’t break the bank like other BBQ places that charge by the lbs.
Trust me one meal will make 2 or 3!
Did I mention how delicious the fries are? LOL
BTW, these pictures are after we made our first pass. Looks like a brand new plate!
Keep it up … you’ve gained a...
Read morestaff was very nice its a new place so not very busy. but I'm positive it will get very busy soon enough.
I bought the family meal came out to about $54. plenty of food for my family (2 adults, 17yr boy, 14yr girl and my 7yr girl. Brisket was sliced and delicious, very tender good flavor. the ribs were very tender good flavor. but I prefer a little more color and a little more char on them. not to say they were not good, but a little more of the forementioned would have put the flavor right up there. I feel a little bit of caramelization would have put the flavor over the top (in a good way). the mac cheese was different but was good and the rice pilaf was delicious buttery with a little nuttiness to it, def my favorite.
the price is about average.
very delicious, friendly staff and good menu options is a recipe for success. Even with the surrounding competition I feel they will do well. Especially if they take my advice about the caramelization of the ribs.
I will go back and try the rest of the protein and sides options they offer.
all in all, I would say with just this first impression...... a 7 or of 10.
must try it out. portionsize to $ is a good value.
if they go pepsi products over coke ill give...
Read moreNot thrilled with my first time here. This may be improved by a second visit with a different expectation.
Ordered a tri tip plate. Tri tip was tender and had a good smoked flavor but was cooked beyond well done like brisket and honestly I should have ordered brisket. Portion felt a little small too- the box had a lot of jus in it and I suspect I had 4oz or less of meat. I have a feeling they were running low on ingredients when I got there.
Baked beans were a highlight. Very tasty and excellent.
Cole slaw was bland and was just slaw.
The sauce was unmemorable but needed to balance the smoke flavors.
The roll was stone cold and just a dinner roll like what you buy for Thanksgiving. Useful for soaking up the half cup to 3/4 of a cup of juice that was left over in my plate when I was done.
I will be back some time, probably not an hour from close on a Saturday as they were already running out of sides, and try something like the brisket or the burnt ends or ribs which are all better suited to a long slow smoke that way.
I think with a little better portions and my expectations adjusted towards traditional barbecue fare I think I could bump this up to...
