I went to here with my mother-in-law, my wife, my daughter, and my son. We ate lunch there on memorial day. I’ve been to the building before to go to the coffee shop there, but I have not eaten at the restaurant. The restaurant and the coffee shop to sit in the building in kind of an odd way. It’s not problematic it just might be confusing to some people. I’ve been there before, but when I walked up a lady who was walking up beside me at the same time, said “it smells like coffee is this the right place?”

The service was pretty good. That day they were short staffed, so they had one of their bus boys not only serving as the hostess, but also functioning as a server. He took our order, he got it, right, and the food didn’t take too long to get to us. I would say that the food was pretty good. A place that says that it’s authentic Mexican food I kind of expect to seem more authentic. This seemed more Tex-Mex style of Mexican food, and there’s nothing really wrong with that. I just expected authentic. Really unique Leigh decorated interior. Be careful if you sit in the area that’s somewhat elevated both my wife and I nearly tripped and we went...

Went in with a large group (20+ top), according to the board on the hostess station there were 3 waitresses/waiters, however, we only saw 1. Our waitress did a great job in the beginning, but as the food started to come out it came out in 4 different increments with a large enough gap that some people finished before others even received their food and several people were missing things. My friend and I shared the huevos rancheros, but we never received our entire order, even after asking a couple of times. The waitress did bring out a couple of thermoses of coffee for us, but it only made it to a handful of people before it was emptied and other drinks were never refilled. Since we never received our full meal, my friend and I asked to be charged for a side of eggs, tortillas, and coffee (the only items we received) when the waitress returned, the bill was only discounted to a dollar, since, according to the waitress, that was the cost of the potatoes. The manager never came out and the waitress was left alone to unsuccessfully handle a...

This place was so good when they first opened. Our waitress forgot to refill our waters we waited 15mins then asked the host. Then forgot our food until we said we will just get the check and cancel the food we ordered. I’m assuming because we were a small party she wanted to take the parties with more people. Kind of sucks because we are really good tippers. I tip based off service and we had 4 servers the whole time we were there. The person who was supposed to serve us forgot to refill our waters again after we waited another 30 mins. Never got our food until we said to cancel it then somehow after waiting an hour we got it after we complained within 3 mins. She kept apologizing but it was clear we weren’t a priority to her. DONT waste your money here save it for another place. Also the food was so unseasoned and the chicken was dry 🤢🤮. Sucks because I love supporting small businesses but only ones who act like small business and treat their consumers with respect like the...

Update 4/14/24 Ok, I had the carne adobada plate, and my wife had the relleno playe. The calabacita was different since it's mostly roasted but good. The refried beans are ok, but if you add salsa on top, they taste better. The carne was at a perfect spiced medium to hot, but the relleno's breading outside was burnt. No muy Bueno. Great service, nice atmosphere. Fair prices, so this place is worth a try once, by the way the sopapillas were delicious. The decision is yours to make to try it. If we go there again, I will update it as well. Test kitchen on main st. Went by for the first time, and the place is clean and comfortable. I ordered two burritos, one carne adovada, the other a combination. The combo was better tasting than the other, but what didn't appeal to me was the price for each of them. They were too small and overpriced for a testing kitchen. I'm not sure if I would be returning. Maybe.

The joy that filled my heart to see Guadalajara reopening is hard to express. I have such wonderful memories of the old Guadalajara, when I was a kid. I would beg to go there every time I visited Clovis. We were in Clovis for three days this week and I went to Guadalajara for a meal EVERYDAY!! The staff was warm and welcoming and the food was just like I remembered. Delicious homemade salsa and unlimited chips. Ground beef enchiladas with red sauce are my favorite. The guacamole is fresh and without extenders (onions, tomatoes, sour cream, etc). And then there is the grand finale...sopapillas with honey. So yummy! So perfectly hot and fluffy. Sounds like this test kitchen is just a warm up for a great restaurant next to Big Lots...coming soon! Can't wait to check it out next time I am in town. Thanks Mike, Kirsty, secret sopapilla maker in the kitchen and the rest of the staff. We love Guadalajara!!!
