I ordered a cake several weeks ago. I confirmed 4 days prior and everything was fine. We have purchased Cakes before for a large and were very please. However; this time we show up to get our cake and it was given to someone else earlier. How do you give a custom made Birthday Cake with a name on it to someone else? The tag for our cake was on another box. Does anyone check before handing them out? So Birthday here, Party ready to go, Family from out of town in, Restaurant waiting for our arrival and NO CAKE. So they decide to give us cake off the shelf. We thought it was a quality place so better then stopping somewhere else last minute. I ask can we a least get the name of the Birthday Girl on the cake? Sure no problem! 30 minutes later i am still waiting!! I told them I was already late, I needed to go. How long does it take to put a name on a cake? They said that they tried and messed it up so they had to melt chocolate and redo the top. I am still waiting. Of course no deposit back which at least would have been the proper thing to do. Then the person from the previous post came in and as she stated, they told her that was the best they could do for the color red. Really???? WOW. I seen it! RED!!!! I guess my deposit can go for baking lessons. That was the best they could do!!!!! For the cake we took WOW, was this thing previously frozen? It was no better than a defrosted grocery cake. It was really that bad. Finally, we left our phone number and asked for the owner to call me. He is in their most of the time. That must have been too much of a request. He did not take the time to give us a call. A year ago we would have raved about this place. Now go to anywhere and save some money. It will be at least as good of quality and maybe they will even care enough to complete your order. NEVER AGAIN PARISIEN BAKERY IN CLOVIS . NEVER AGAIN do we waste our money for your version of quality...
Read moreI ordered a birthday cake for my grandson at the Parisienne Bakery in Clovis. I was given the name and phone number of the baker to go over the cake decorations as I was thinking of placing a photo on the cake. I ordered the cake while I was inside the bakery except for the exact decoration. The baker would not return my call so I called the bakery and told them she would not return my call and went over exactly what I wanted on the cake. Red writing saying happy birthday and my grandsons name and a drawing of a kick scooter with a stick figure riding it. All in red my grandsons favorite color. The girl who answered the phone took the information and said the baker would call me-no call took place. I called again the next day and the baker was there and said she would call me in a few minutes. Still no return call. Therefore, I called Thursday before I was to pick up the cake on Saturday to make sure they had the right order and if the baker is reliable. The girl said she is very reliable and they havenât had any problems. I went to pick up the cake Saturday before the party and all the writing and decorations were in pink. I explained this wasnât acceptable but I was on the way to a party could they correct it. The girl tried to tell me the pink was the closet they could get to red. I corrected her as I used to decorate cakes and there is definitely a red. Also, no kick scooter it was a moped in pink no less. Needless to say I am very angry about this whole ordeal. Also, a guy was there when I came in and they did not make his cake at all. To my mind there are several breakdowns in their system first an unreliable baker, second why isnât anyone checking to be sure the orders have been filled properly before customers come to pick them up. I will never order another cake...
Read moreSaturday mid-morning and there were only 4 or 5 tables occupied, total, both inside and out. That was rather surprising as I have always found Le Parisien rather busy at that time. Croque Madame and Croque Monsieur appear to have slid off the menu, but the ham and bacon omelet on croissant was a fine substitute for my traditional Croque Madame. An airy light omelet with strips of bacon laid on top, ensconsed within a fluffy, buttery croissant. Think not of the gruyere and the Bechamel and pleasure and satisfaction are delivered aplenty. My wife had scrambled eggs and fresh fruit. The scrambled eggs were rich and creamy, and the fruits fresh and sweet. Her portions were on the smaller side, but perfect for her needs. Service was prompt, efficient, and friendly. The atmosphere on the patio was fresh, with hints of NOx and SOx from the passing of the occasional jalopy or pseudo classic car. Great food, great service, great location on Clovis Avenue, even when a classic car show has invaded Old Town. September 2023 - the menu has changed, Croque Madame and Croque...
