I have stayed in this hotel twice. Both times were a disappointment. The first time was for two days and they didn't clean my room.,..claimed a housekeeper quit and they couldn't get to it. The second time (and I only went back because it was a family emergency and was the only place I could find a room for a week.) came with a list of issues. As I joined my grieving family and friends each day it became the first question...what went wrong last night?
They never changed my sheets, I ask for them two but in the entire week they were never changed.
They forgot to make up the room twice during my stay. I took out the trash and went down stairs for clean towels.
The hotel was extremely noisy two of the nights. There were parties and the hotel staff seemed to join in.
The ice machine and vending machine room door was broken my entire stay. The handle would come off in your hands if you tried to open the door.
This one is my favorite. One night, around 8 pm, I returned to my room. The toilet was overflowing. I had been gone 12 hours and the bathroom was flooded. I called the front desk. Five minutes later the desk clerk appeared at my door with a plunger and two towels. He then left. I'm a 55 year old women who was alone...I had to stop the toilet water, plunge it and clean up the mess. They don't have a maintenance person.
Oh and the power went out one night. Complete darkness. It wasn't the hotels fault but we sat in darkness for hours. The couple next to me called for a flashlight. (I always travel with my own) The hotel didn't provide them or any other help.
Did I mention the breakfast is HORRIBLE!
I mentioned this all at check out and the lovely lady behind the counter actually said..."Oh well." I called corporate and they said it was up to the hotel to address my complaint and they chose not to.
My suggestion is find another place to stay there are several within sight of this hotel. I plan to on...
Read moreThe facility itself is great. The employees were all very nice. The pool is clean. The rooms are clean. It smells good. The only problem was they charged me twice for my room which took $647 out of my account. I brought it to their attention, they basically said there’s nothing they could do. after we checked out they continued to try to charge my card 10 times. TEN. We stay at this hotel at least two or three times a year, but I’m sorry this will probably be the last time we go back. They just kept trying to charge me over and over and over and every time it declined my card, I would get a notification. We called and asked why they keep trying to run my card after they already took over $600 out, which $320 was in error. They said that they tried to charge it 10 times because it kept declining. Of course it kept declining we already paid for our hotel room twice. We ran to the bank and took all of our money out of our account after they charged us double for the room. We were terrified they were going to take all of our money. I don’t understand why they kept trying to charge my card after the hotel room was already paid for twice. They told me it was a problem with my bank, but when I called my bank, they said it was a problem on the hotels end and it would take up to nine days to refund me one of the chargers if it was in error. We travel a lot and this has never happened with any other hotel. When we called the hotel again, they said they would have the general manager get in touch with us. We never got a phone call back. I’m really disappointed because we love this hotel. Now I’m afraid to deposit any money in my bank because they might try to charge me again. I don’t know what was going on, but they didn’t really seem to care. The front desk clerk just kept saying it was only authorized once OK if it was already authorized once then why did you try to charge it 10 times after it was already...
Read moreFor this specific hotel, it would be a 1. Then only if there was nowhere else available. They have an obvious ownership problem. Your chain has been slipping over all since Covid. I like the less frequent cleanings but that's all. Breakfasts ( know, only 30% of regulars use them. But they are there when needed) are Much less desirable. Properties are falling into disrepair. Send out some secret guests for inspections. Its obvious and won't be missed.
This location needs to reinvest heavily. The owner done nothing since Covid, 5 years ago. It needs a thorough cleaning, paint/wall paper, new carpet or at least a heavy duty clean. Most recently, water fixtures, faucets, tub drains and commodes have started failing. The shower heads have needed cleaning or replacement for years. The Refrigerators and Microwaves are starting to fail. If they do that will be the last straw for me.
My wife recently came to Cloves with me on 2 separate occasions and we couldn't stay here. More accurately, I wouldn't with her. So we chose an alternative a short distance away. Even the carpets were too dirty to subject her to.
Don't get me wrong, staff is good. Many very good. Management is excellent. This is an ownership problem that must be fixed and soon. I've given them as much time as is reasonable to correct their short sightedness.
I may soon have to transfer my business elsewhere. This reviewer actually has some idea about the subject. I'm on the road 180 plus night per year. I've been loyal through the price hikes but my patience is being tried. Please seek to correct this ASAP.
As for me, I've already switched brands for the most part. Partly do to price increases (Government traveler) but mostly this in the face of a great reduction in the product. I cling to this location in hopes of a correction and because they were my first regular hotel as my...
