Since living in the mountains, I regularly travel into town (Fresno/Clovis) for photo sessions. It's hard to find time away being a homeschooling mom of 4 kiddos. So after shoots, I tend to come into Starbucks to find that much needed reprieve and peace to edit my sessions uninterrupted. I usually purchase a cheese box for the cheese, grapes and apples and throw out the crackers (being gluten intolerant) and a Venti Iced caramel Macchiato upside down to accompany me in my session times. I already had a coffee I had gotten elsewhere but still decided to come and edit at the Fowler and Herndon location (being my usual favorite spot to edit for the kindness of the staff and comfortability of the corner booths set up for computers). I had already been in here editing about 2 hours and decided it was dinner time and I was ready to eat. Noticing the entire "box" section of fresh food is empty, I decide to ask if they had anymore given there's not much I can eat here. They kindly said they were out and so I decided to pass on getting the food and just asked for a water (given I forgot my water bottle and have another few hours of editing left to do here before heading back home). Tani was so kind to get me a water and I gratefully thanked her and sat back down. I was later approached by Tani a few minutes later saying "I didn't know, but I can't give out waters if you haven't purchased something. So what would you like to get?" After I kindly told her she can take the water back and that I hadn't had this issue before but she could take it back if thats necessary. She kept highlighting different items I can purchase, even with me kindly turning her down telling her I'm okay and will pass as there's nothing I would like. I think the only thing was a bag of chips that is gluten free thats available. She was very persistent as determined to right the mistake she made apparently. She then said that on my refill, I would need to purchase something and that I can do it then. ALL THE WHILE, other people have come into the Starbucks and some bought coffee over the last 2 hours and some only getting water. Should that individual be held to the same standard? Or is the standard just for me? I say all this to point out, that I had a competitor coffee in my hand as I walked in... was it because of that? I have gotten free waters here for decades with no issues. why today? Plus I have given thousands of dollars to this company for their products over the years. Also, if you gave a water to me and the staff wasn't aware of a policy, I should not be pressured into buying something when the mistake wasn't mine that was made. I could be wrong, and dont want to jump to conclusions, but after my interaction with Tani, I know that in my experience this sudden enforcement felt calculated and not the usual kind customer service I am used to here. There was one taller barista I was bringing up friendly conversation with, that didn't seem to want anything to do with. So whatever the case was, whether I was being targeted for having a competitor coffee in hand when I walked in or they're just having a terrible day and want to not serve me a simple water lol... I tried to purchase food, they didn't have it. Then was targeted and made to feel bad for not purchasing something. Thats not the hospitality a company should obtain. Come on Starbucks. It's a bummer. Maybe we will try again and sum it up to a bad day or miscommunication? And if all you hear from this is that I am upset about not getting a free water you missed the whole point of the review. lol I hope that the next time I try and come, I am met with kindness and care, not judgment and mistreatment compared to the other customers who got served no problem (with...
Read moreI truly wish I could give them a 5 star, but I thank goodness for the girl that I got. She smiled, and very friendly. I spoke to two other workers, and it seemed they had a chip on there shoulder. The girl at the door sent me and three other people to the wrong place. Even the security guy. Something about the DMV most worker think they own the world. They truly need to change. Most offices have that same attitude. Sorry...
Read moreCompletely new staff so new review. Long waits. Waited like 20 min to get a drink that was made 20 min before and was only 3/4 full Im assuming because I asked for no ice since they completely fill it with ice even if you ask for light ice and I paid extra for this drink. Also, got a look from the barista like they were mad at me. I never go inside now. This won't be my go to location anymore, until the...
