AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE! Im not one to typically leave negative reviews, as im a small business owner myself, but I've never had such a bad experience ever in my life. I came here craving Mexican food and ordered what i always order everywhere i go; fajitas carnitas, chili reano, and chips and queso. I dont know what kind of mystery meat they served me, roadkill i presume, because it not only looked terrible but it tasted like something that went from freezer to microwave to my plate. It was so bad i couldn't eat it. The beans and rice were the worst I've ever had at a Mexican restaurant. The chili reano was tough as could be, and was just okay tasting. Chips were alright. I've had worse (only ones worse would be stale). The queso was super thick. I'd prefer it a runny/thin. And the service was terrible. I dont know if theyre are short staffed or if everyone working there is new or maybe they just dont know what good customer service is because trust me, i almost (and shouldve) walked out of there. I called three times, but there was no answer. I drove there and waited at least 10 minutes before someone would take my order. And when i came back to pick up my food, waited close to another 10 minutes (MY FOOD WAS ON THE TABLE RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME GETTING COLD) but because they keep a rope to keep people from barging in the dinning room, you must wait for one of the incompetent employees to assist you. I would've been better off eating nasty little ceasars and having spending the night on the toilet because of it instead of being served what came out...
Read moreWe stopped by Michael’s Taco in Cody, Wyoming for lunch and were welcomed with complimentary chips and salsa, which was a nice start. We ordered the fajita chimichangas and the fajita combo (shrimp, carnitas, and beef). The fajita chimichanga was delicious, and the fajita combo came out sizzling hot which made it even more appetizing. The shrimp was flavorful, though the carnitas and beef were a little chewy. The combo was also a bit salty to my liking, but still tasty overall. The rice and beans on the side were also delicious.
The ambience is colorful and lively with bright décor, papel picado banners, and a casual dining atmosphere that makes the place inviting. I also like that they have automatic doors, which makes the restaurant wheelchair accessible.
Even though it was busy, the servers were very friendly. They always made sure to refill our drinks and check in every now and then to see if we needed anything, which added to the overall experience.
Overall, it was a good dining experience with flavorful dishes, generous portions, a vibrant atmosphere, and...
Read moreOverall Michael's Taco is a small family-owned and operated restaurant that gives you the small town Tex-Mex restaurant vibe and food.
Overall Michael's is a good restaurant with fresh ingredients and am incredible view. The server staff is extremely quick and prompt to service and helping you with any other needs. It was easy to tell that the salsa for the chips and salsa was sliced in the kitchen with fresh cilantro tomatoes and onions but they seem to be it. It was a bit bland missing that spice or pazzaz that set these mom and pop shops apart. The portions seem to be quite small for the price as well. The atmosphere was lacking No music, except what was bleeding out from the kitchen, along with the yelling. no TV, just the sounds of the conversations at the dinner table next to you...
Overall, I had a good experience for a TexMex but adding some simple ingredients and music would greatly improve...
