Gentleman with the goatee at checkin was ok. Did not explain the location of my room very well, was rude when I came in again after parking my car to ask where it was located after dealing with him having no idea where my paperwork or anything was. Room was alright. Balcony view was that of the employee smoking area and air conditioners. Bed was comfortable. The 2 bathrooms were nice but it would make sense to have a bathtub in at least one of them. Fridge does not have a freezer in it and the remotes for the 2 TVs didn't work. The restaurant was great. Great food and very friendly staff. The Night Audit woman I had the pleasure of encountering was very friendly and kind. At check out (late check out at 1pm 8/22) the lady was extremely rude to me when I told her to have someone check the batteries of the lock on one of the exit doors because my keys were not working there and worked for my room. When I asked for a receipt she had some weird excuse as to why I didnt need one. I have been working in hotels as a front desk agent for years, so I know how the processes for check in, audit and check out go along with little things like general maintenance. I would maybe reccomend this place again if your staff were...
Read moreBeautiful hotel, wonderful staff. The suites are very, very nice. Our only issue, which most people will probably not mind, was with the green air conditioning. Fortunately, it was not in the 90s, or worse, while we were there. The A/C runs on motion-detection, which means if you are not there or are sleeping, it will not run. It was by-passed for us, but still did not work as well as we hoped. We had to run a small fan in the bedroom to circulate the air which helped. My nephew said he was just too hot during the night (he was the furthest from the fan). Due to a rare medical condition, if it had been hot and humid, we would have had a huge problem and will avoid this type of hotel in the future due to the potential for a life-threatening medical emergency. While this is a rare situation, it felt like they had not taken into consideration that there may be guests who require a/c. The override was good but we still needed the fan. The hotel is too expensive to be uncomfortable and not get a good night's sleep. Again, this may not bother most people. Would definitely stay again in...
Read moreFine experience. Handsome room and hotel: lots of wood and earth tones. Comfortable bed. Friendly and helpful staff (Thanks Chris and Will!). Pool and hot tub were just right. Good channels on the tube. My visits are in winter and a staff member very thoughtfully shoveled a path around my car after a nine-inch snow. On the down side, no breakfast is included with the room rate. But on the upside, there isn't a miserable waffle machine or Styrofoam cups or Red Delicious apple (hotel world: why not a Fuji apple? or a HoneyCrisp?). I'm happy that they don't offer a free breakfast after all. The restaurant service and food were good (the Standard: two eggs, toast, two slices of bacon and lots of hash browns is $8). The room rates are on the high side (this is for the BW Premier, not the BW motel across the street which is closed in winter), but the stay is comfortable. The glass top on the desk is annoying if you want to use a laptop mouse. Wireless is free and fine. A suite is a larger room decorated just as a regular room, so there isn't a lot of advantage to getting one. A fine stay in a...
