This review isn’t to bash the food but to express my extreme disappointment. Every week you come here the food get more expensive and expensive. We understand that their is inflation cost of production is getting higher, but to short your customers in the process is unacceptable. Everytime as a community we want to support a growing business, they express their gratitude to their loyal customer base by taxing the hell out of them. Please explain why a small platter is 35 dollars and the rice and meat are stuffed in the same container. The same side they have been serving since way back when is 8 dollars for a SMALL side. The purpose of creating restaurants like this is to create an environment where people can eat authentic food native to their country while also supporting your country mates, but somewhere along the line greed and profit gets in the way and they look their customers in the eye and truly stand by the prices! Do better as a business but also as a people! When the hype of the place wear off and their no more “insta” customers. All you have left is the people who truly support and truly advocated for your growth. Don’t let that fade just for quick profit! Quick profit doesn’t last long term. Sadly my Koite support has come to an end. I feel ripped off and I’m not going to feel that way to simply eat food! I urge you all to...
Read moreGranted I haven't been to their restaurant locations, their pop-up location that features their food truck in Forestville Plaza is where my mom was blessed to bring some of their food home for the family to try. Quick story, one weekend I was driving by with her in my vehicle and suddenly we smelled a delicious aroma as well as saw smoke coming from the grill. She noted the place in her mind this weekend she was able to venture there. She relayed that they had a good amount of customers ordering food but the personnel was so patient, kind, and helpful. She brought home some grilled chicken, lamb, jollof rice, macaroni and cheese, and green beans. Majority of the meat and jollof rice was in one container, but altogether enough to feed a family of three people with huge appetites. Everything was delicious, but my favorite was their grilled chicken! It paired nicely with their mustard sauces, especially the hot mustard sauce! They also have The most unique and delicious joloff rice I've ever tasted in my life! The taste of Senegal cannot be compared! I've tried other West African food, but Senegalese food stands out like no other! Originally, Ivorian food was my favorite, but now I can add Senegalese food to my new list of favorite West African food! You have to try it - you won't regret it! I look forward to going to one of their...
Read moreThe food was great!! We ordered the 3 meat combo. The Jollof rice was different from the kind I'm used to, but nonetheless it was very good. I had never tried Senegalese food. I like it. 😋 Omar provided us with great customer service and hospitality. He was very friendly and assured us We made a great choice. My husband went crazy for the 🐐 goat. He suggested the hibiscus drink, which is VERY sweet. I diluted it with sparkling water. Tasty. The entry/restaurant area is a bit cluttered with merchandise. The items do seem to be very authentic and genuine handy crafts. The grocery area is full of ingredients for home cooking. I work in an American grocery store and never see 90% of the items on the shelves here. Omar predicted that we would return. I think he just...
