Order was placed through Uber Eats. Arrived warm so obviously paid too much but see below.
I had: A pulled pork sandwich with sauce side of mac and cheese broccoli and rice casserole peach cobbler baked beans.
The positive: Beans reminded me of Bush's baked beans but with added flavor like simmered in bbq suace and a few extra herbs. Thumbs up.
Welp that sums up the positive. Now for the watch out moment.
I had a bad feeling upon looking at the menu on Uber Eats and seeing a sandwich combo for $15 that's supposed to come with a side, but the only way to add the side was to add an additional $5. I opted for the sandwich only for $10 and added the sides separately.
Sandwich barely had 2oz of meat on it. Bread was so soggy, I had to eat it with a fork. I wouldn't have ordered a sandwich if I knew it was going to be so soggy. I did see some potential in the flavor, but the texture was terribly lacking. maybe just a bad night?
Broccoli and cheese casserole. Ever eat dirt? Broccoli tasted like it came straight from the ground to the pot. Again, there was a lot of potential in the flavor but there seems to be a lot of shortcuts or carelessness. Maybe both?
Peach Cobbler. This is the easiest dish of the south AND it's permissable to use canned peaches to make this great southern delight that's not hard to get right. Well. Somehow, they did it. They found a way to make it inedible beyond a couple of bites. It tasted like it had some kind of additive to thicken it up and the flavor was bad. The bread was soggy, but still somehow had the right thickness and the right amount of peaches. Whatever they're adding in, stop! It's not even edible like this.
Last but not least, the mac and cheese! I've been putting off making my own but I'm always hesitant to try someone else's whether it be family, friends, or another restaurant. I thought, well, I'll give it a try. Boy, was I mistaken. It barely had any cheese on it at all. It was the blandest mac and cheese I've had in a very long time. In fact, I can't remember ever having any mac and cheese that was just pasta in a bowl with a sprinkle of some kind of sauce and a pinch of cheese. I don't do countertop mac and cheese. I've spent years improving upon a basic recipe I learned when I was a kid. I'm far from that now, but I must say I know good mac and cheese when I find it. That being said, I think I'd rather eat a tomato sandwich with mayonnaise then to even consider ordering from this place again. I really hope it was just a bad night, but for it to be this bad I'm afraid it's not.
BONUS: Two of us ordered on the order so our food was delivered together. His rib tips were so dry and hard, it was like eating very dry jerky. Not what he ordered or wanted a taste of. Store bought jerky has more moisture than this did. How do I know? He shared a piece with me to try. There was again a potential for great tasting ribs, but this was way overcooked, so dry I wouldn't feed it to my dogs, and left me feeling way disappointed in spending so much money on food that was just this terrible.
The thought has occured to me that maybe they were short handed, or maybe there is some other reason, but even then, I would've expected a better level of quality and attention to detail from a BBQ place that could otherwise be a strong competitor in a bbq/wing rich area of the country. However, at least with me, I shall not ever think about that place again.
Should you choose to order anyway, I warned you. On the other hand if you have a similar or different experience, I'd...

Plate 2: Rib Tips, green beans, and peach cobbler $24
The brisket meat was finely diced and mixed up with tons of fat (approximately 40%), as pictured on one side of the container. Then the diced meat/ fat was smoothered with the BBQ sauce and placed on top of a hamburger bun. Mind you, I didn't order a sandwich. The photo with the soggy bread is the bottom of the hamburger bun. The top of the bun was soft, fluffy, and tasty. Overall, it was decent, but not enjoyable due to the amount of fat and presentation.
Rib Tips were yummy. They took care to ensure the bread wasn't made soggy by laying paper between the meat and bread. It was covered with yummy BBQ sauce.
The sides were good. The veggies had a fresh flavor to them. Reminded me of the vegetables my grandmother grew in her garden. They were stewed a bit longer so they were on the softer side. The greens had a slight hint of sweetness.
The peach cobbler was extra delicious. Perfect amount of peaches, ratio of sweet to salty, and nice texture throughout (soft peaches and...
Read morewe paid over 100 for 2 pans of ribs 35 each. 12 each for family sides that should have cost 9 they were over priced and 7 for a small cobbler. they threw in 4 rib bones with the meat stripped completely of ( it was not crusted over and burned it was stripped off) . a liitle bit of the meat was too hard and dry to chew it smelled old. My pets could not chew it. They chopped the meat up the ribs were chopped very small and the meat was cut into small squares. The squares were burnt, dry , old, unchewable and salty. The parts with the actual rib bon in them were moist and well seasoned. Some meat was freshly cooked and some was frozen and thawed but it was not cooked that day or the day before. Potato salad needed salt and pepper it was plain and had low quality mayonnaise or some sort of dressing that had a bad after taste I added my own seasonings to eat so i did not have to throw it out. The baked beans had vinegar in them and smelled like they had spoiled. I tasted them to make sure and they had too much vinegar. the peach cobbler was okay. 10 percent service charge was added without notifying me I tip better than that but let me know don't hide fees I...
