This was by far the worst hotel experience I've ever had. When I booked, I specifically chose this hotel because it was close to the airport and near the facility where my brother, who recently suffered a stroke, resides. I always research hotels thoroughly before booking, and while this one had mixed reviews, it seemed reasonable, especially since it offered a shuttle service and had a pool (although the pool turned out to be closed and filthy, clearly not cleaned since last year, which was an unpleasant view from my room). I had an extremely early flight to Atlanta, so I called the hotel ahead of time to let them know I'd be arriving early and would need the shuttle. They instructed me to wait at the airport pickup area. Finding the location was easy despite Atlanta's huge airport, but that's where the good experience ended. I waited over an hour and a half for the shuttle to arrive. Even the airport shuttle staff were shaking their heads at how long it was taking. They informed me the hotel had recently switched to operating its own shuttle service, which helped me understand some of the delay, but it was still incredibly frustrating. When the shuttle finally arrived, I boarded without saying a word, just relieved to sit down. Not even 10 feet from the pickup spot, the driver got a phone call and started loudly yelling about an "idiot" who had left their passport behind. I was on the phone with my best friend, who was stunned at the unprofessional behavior. It got worse. Instead of taking me straight to the hotel, the driver circled back to the airport pickup area and, after some confusion, asked the airport staff for directions, wasting another 15 minutes. I asked if she could just take me to the hotel, but she insisted it "wouldn't take long" and drove me around the airport again before finally heading to the hotel. Exhausted and frustrated, I approached the front desk to check in, only to be told that early check-in would cost an additional $40 something no one had mentioned when I called earlier. I offered to pay with the card used for incidentals, but the staff insisted it had to be a separate charge and questioned if I even had enough money on the card, which was incredibly rude and offensive. On top of that, there was zero empathy for my situation. She demanded payment without explaining the policy clearly. I had to deal with my bank at the same time because they flagged my card use out of state, making the interaction even more stressful. When I finally got to the room, it reeked of smoke. Even though I initially hesitated to go back to the front desk (because of how badly I was treated), I eventually requested a room change. Again, I was met with attitude. When I asked to speak to a manager, I was told none were on-site. Instead of helping, the front desk agent accused me of having an "attitude first" and even pointed out that cameras were recording, which I welcomed, hoping they had audio to capture how poorly I was treated. I ended up just taking the new room and moving on. Important to note: The overnight staff and the shuttle manager were MUCH more professional and kind. Management, however, clearly does not respect or prioritize guests. The rooms were subpar not cleaned properly and not worth the hassle. Bottom Line: Do not stay at this hotel. It's a 2-star experience at best, and not worth the trouble or the money. I will...
Read moreFirst got there and the people at the desk were rude. The first room we went to had roaches and smelled horrible. When we went to inform them, the man at the front desk was mad. He then sent us to another room. The second rooms door was not secure. One could get in it without using a key and it also smelled horrible. We went to inform him of this. By this time he was extremely unhappy. The third room we went into smelled better but the bed was iffy. Due to me being tired I sat on it and waited on my husband to find us a better place to go. I wasn't even on the bed for 5mins and I had a string of bed bug bites on my back. I freaked out and called the agency I booked the room with and explained to them that I was unhappy and wanted a refund. Plus we hadn't even been there a full twenty minutes and all of that had transpired. They put me on hold to call the hotel. Next thing we know we get a banging on the door. We kept saying hold on but it didn't stop. The man at the door demanded for us to come out. We told them to wait. Then a second man came and let himself in. face palm my husband spoke up and kind of scared him off from invading our privacy and letting himself in. He too demanded we come out. The third gut had balls but I was about to snatch them and his dignity when we decided to curse us out and argue with us about me being bitten by bedbugs. He kept demanding we show him the bugs. When it was all said in done they kicked us out and refused to give us our money back. We stood our ground. We paid for this cap and we wasn't leaving until a full refund was issued. Once we got our regund, we dipped and found another place. shout out to the Ramada Plaza aside from all that mess, I have nothing against the LGBT community, but there were transsexuals all over the hotel soliciting sex and we had our son with us... not cool. And no one cared. But what clicked in his mind that said it was okay to be rude to us and he knew his place was a slum? Smh. DO NOT GO THERE!!!!! NOT NEVER EVER. that place needs to be burned and closed. IF I COULD GIVE NO...
Read moreIn reading the other reviews of this "disgusting, and horrendous place" I stand in unity with the other reviews. The place is infested with illegal activities, and persons who have little to known cognitive intelligence. The staff is beyond ignorant and rude, their "degenerates" in every since of the word. The room was deplorable, my wife was so outdone with the place that she went and sat in the car, and cried. It was a tramatic, and scary situation for my family. But, as a professional and business owner myself this is the stance that I'm going to take. People, will only treat you in the manner that you allow them. This place is currently open for business because those in the surrounding area allow it. When foreigners come to this country, and know offence to all, "but some" they will go as far as you allow them to. What I'm going to do is first "report the hotel to the BBB, and then I'm going to call the state department. A review is just that, if it's not followed up with "aggressive actions." I've never in my life been to a place that should be "CONDEMNED", and I tell you what I'll see to it that these low life persons who operate this filth will hear my disdain loud, and clear. STAND UP PEOPLE, DON'T EVERY PATRONAGE THIS PLACE, OR ANY OTHER BUSINESS THAT OPERATES IN THIS FASHION. #ReportThemToTheBBBAndHealthDepartmentNow!!!!! PS. The star was only given in order to post the review. Please be advise that this...
