Me and my two Besties decided to meet for brunch on Sunday, October 26, 2025. One of my Besties had eaten there a day during the week. She said the food was really good. So based on her recommendation, we all agreed to meet at The Breakfast Boys Restaurant on Sunday at 1:30pm. My Beastie, the one who had eaten there, made the reservation for 1:30pm. We all arrived to the restaurant by 1:15pm. We all went to the Hostess to let her know that we there and on time for our reservation. The Hostess asked for the name on the reservation. My Bestie gave it. The Hostess said she could not find the reservation. My Bestie showed the Hostess the reservation and the confirmation which was on her phone. The Hostess then said, “It has to show on our system.” It did not matter that my Bestie had proof on her phone. When the Hostess finally did find the reservation, it had been canceled. We asked why. She replied the “system” canceled it. No notice was sent, no call, no text, and no email. We were very surprised that the reservation was canceled and no notice was given. The Hostess said that the restaurant had nothing to do with the cancelation. Next she said that there was nothing she could do and we could wait to be seated. The wait was at least an hour long. She asked us what did we want to do. My other Bestie said “not eat here”, and we left. The Hostess was very nonchalant about the cancelation. She did not offer any resolution. SHE DID NOT CARE! My two Besties paid $15.00 to park in a parking lot because there is limited free parking at the restaurant. I found parking for free on a side neighborhood street. My friends spent money for nothing! We were there for about 30 minutes and we were treated horribly, with no care or any accommodation offered. What a waste of money, time, and gas. We drove in from different cities outside of College Park. I drove from Smyrna. My friends drove from McDonough and Rex. But I learned a lesson. Never patronize a restaurant that: Has very limited or no free parking Cancels confirmed reservations Has a Hostess who has no care or concern for a situation that was out of our control.
Had I known that the first person to greet me would not care about our confirmed reservation and that we had to pay to park before we ever sat down to eat, I would have made a different decision, and go to a restaurant that values and appreciates its customers. I will never eat there or recommend it. As a side note, the policeman at the parking lot, offered to go and talk to the manager to remedy this situation. But, because of our first impression of the Hostess, we declined. It is our understanding that at The Breakfast Boys, first impressions don’t matter. The police officer had more care and concern about what happened to us, and wanted to try to do something to accommodate us than the Hostess who worked there. Truthfully and very...
Read moreI visited on Sunday. My friend had a flight to catch in a few hours but we wanted to pop in somewhere for brunch before she left. This place was on my "want to go" list and it wasn't too far from the airport so I put us on the wait list via Yelp and it gave me a time frame to be there to check in and be seated. Unfortunately, I didn't account for parking being so tight. I paid something like $10 across the street and made my way to the front. With all the hassle of finding parking, we missed our cutoff time by about 4 minutes. The woman at the front would not honor that I had been on the list prior and just got booted off. It was a bit disappointing - so I took a star off service for that. But she was very polite and respectful so it was okay. I asked if they had a breakfast bar we could go to since we were on a time crunch. She said they do but it's full. I thanked her and went and checked for myself. Lo and behold, 3 empty seats. So my friend and I walked right in, walked downstairs and sat down at the breakfast bar. So check for yourself!
Sitting at the bar was actually a good choice for us since Tamara was our bartender and server. She was speedy, charming and gave us good recommendations. Loved her! We both enjoyed the food at The Breakfast Boys. I had the fried chicken and pancakes and the chicken was well seasoned. Pancakes were super fluffy and just the perfect amount of buttery goodness. My friend had the meat omelette and that was amazing as well. The only thing we thought was curious is that it had corn in it - but it was still tasty so it wasn't a con at all. The potatoes on the side were also sliced into perfect portions, crisp on the outside, soft on the inside -and salted perfectly!
Oh and you know we had to get a little boozy. We got a carafe of rum punch and initially thought it would be watery cause of the amount of ice in there. But BOY, that run punch snuck up on us both - and it definitely hit! Tamara mixed them perfectly!
The chairs at the bar are a bit uncomfortable but you forget once you dig in to the food and drink. LOL
Price: I would say it is a bit pricey but considering the current state of prices everywhere, it is actually reasonable. The carafe of rum punch was $50 , my dish was about 24. Not the worst.
Decor- I enjoyed the colors! You can tell they tried to do some things - I didn't pay too much attention to all parts but I liked the artwork on the wall upstairs. It wasn't the fanciest but you can tell they put some effort in.
All in all, I will be back with other friends and family. I still give it 5 stars cause I liked my experience despite the parking/seating/wait list. For them to be able to accommodate our impromptu brunch on a Sunday in Atlanta? And still deliver? Yeah, you deserve...
Read moreI had just gotten off a night shift at work and was accompanying my roomate to the airport when he suggested we come here first. I was really excited I’ve always wanted to come to Breakfast Boys, so it honestly felt like I was the one going on vacation.
We arrived right around opening time and didn’t have to wait. Our server, Mimi, was wonderful, super friendly and welcoming. We ordered about six drinks between us, the salmon egg rolls, shrimp & catfish grits, and the lobster mac & cheese to go. The grits was absolutely phenomenal—seriously, one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. However, the fried lobster was extremely salty. I actually remembered that this wasn’t my first time having that experience: about a year ago, I ordered from Breakfast Boys on Uber Eats and had the same issue with the food being overly salty. I even left a review at the time. So that might just be a pattern to watch out for.
Still, the vibe of this place is amazing. I loved the decor and especially the wall projections—there was a projection of a DJ playing in front of an ocean or lake scene, and it transitioned from day to night while we were there. It was mesmerizing and added such a cool touch to the atmosphere.
The music the restaurant was playing was also incredible—classic tracks that had me vibing the whole time. I mean songs that I haven’t heard in years taking me all the way back. The staff uniforms added to the fun, immersive feel. For a moment, I really felt like I was on a mini getaway.
Unfortunately, the experience was cut short. While we were still ordering drinks and actively eating, someone came over and told us we had a few minutes left because the table was reserved. I was totally shocked—no one had told us there was a time limit when we sat down. It felt abrupt and honestly made me feel a little singled out, even if that wasn’t the intent.
I wanted to see what the professional thing to do would’ve been and if I had a right to be upset. After doing some research online , I learned that best practice in restaurants is to inform guests of any time limits when they’re seated, not after they’ve already settled in. That would’ve made all the difference and avoided the awkwardness so I do have a right to be upset.
Despite that, I still tipped well and didn’t let it ruin my experience. Mimi was great, the energy was fantastic, and the food (minus the salt bomb) was mostly excellent. I’ll definitely be back—but next time, I’ll make a reservation...
