Atlanta / My Favorite British Pub

Atlanta / My Favorite British Pub

I took a suggestion from a good friend a tried this Atlanta treasure. A quaint old british-style pub located inside of an old brick house. The bar was fully stocked and the menu was packed with classic bar foods and British bar cuisine. It had the classic style sandwiches like the Reuben, but also had a burger and some chicken sandwhich options. The main menu was packed with normal American classics like steak, wings, and salmon. But it also had classic British favorites like fish and chips, shepherd's pie, and bangers & mash. But I was there for the best! The "Famous Manchester Arms Smoked Pork Chop" It is only available after 5pm, and from what I hear it sells out pretty fast. They only make so many. It is "a whopping 1.5 lbs (minimum) cold smoked bone-in pork chop, finished on the grill and topped w/ their secret house glace and served w/ mashed potatoes & one side" I was in meat heaven! 🍖 The service was also amazing. The hostess, the waitress, and the entire staff were very friendly and the service was fast. A must try if you are in the downtown Atlanta area.

When first landing in Atlanta it doesn’t take long to think about food. Staying at the Airport Marriott however leaves you with limited options. After searching through reviews I came across this English Pub. While not my first choice in visiting the south and all of its delicacies, the reviews and pictures convinced me to give it a shot and glad I did! Nestled on the corner of what looks like a former home, the Manchester Arms looks like it’s straight from Fleet Street in London. Our server was sweet and knowledgeable about their menu and encouraged us to try the calamari which was some of the best I’ve ever ver had when paired with their awesome tangy dipping sauce. For our main courses we hit fish tacos? Which came in three and were very good size, and a lightly breaded flounder fillet paired with glazed brussel sprouts and fries. TIP: I would have gotten double brussel sprouts they were so good!!! At the End of the Day I don’t come to the south for English food but when you’re hungry and in College Station I will vouch that you won’t find much better!

SUPER impressed with this place. A colleague and I were staying near the airport on a Tuesday night and didn't know what to do for dinner. We stumbled across this place on Google as it was nearby and sounded interesting. Moderately busy, but they were able to seat us very quickly. We were greeted or acknowledged by every single employee that we crossed paths with either walking in, during our meal, or on our way out. Fun atmosphere as it is an older brick home with lots of character. Nice patio area as well outdoors. Blair was our waitress and she was awesome to say the least. My pet peeve is when I ask the server what they recommend, or what they like and they pull the "It's all good" or "this is a popular item". I want someone honest that gives great recommendations and Blair did not disappoint. Super confident and charming, she immediately went into her recommendations for us when I asked the main "what do you recommend?" question. We tried the wings which were excellent. They came out in literally no time at all and super fresh. Naked, smoked and I think flash fried so they were a crispy bite. I highly recommend. My colleague had the signature smoked pork chop that he devoured, and I tried the Beef Stroganoff. Wow. Beef tips with portabella mushrooms and an amazingly flavorful sauce! He also tried the jalapeno creamed corn and said it was excellent as well. I had a house salad with their homemade ranch which was fresh and the perfect size. The food came out super fast, the entire staff worked like an organized dance, where they all helped each other and would randomly stop and check in on people to see how they were doing and to see if they were enjoying their meal. 5 stars from me. I normally do not give blah reviews, or negatively blast places. But when they blow me away with amazing service and product, I want to make sure everyone knows so they will give them their...

While staff are friendly and the location is lovely, the food was a bit of a let down, especially for the price. Wowed by their specials, I ordered the 8 oz fillet steak, which was visually impressive and accompanied by a hearty serving of mashed potatoes, sauteed squash, and asparagus spears thicker around than my thumb.

Unfortunately, the taste was underwhelming. Everything was underseasoned, the asparagus needed the steak knife to cut, the mashed potatoes had a skin so think that it didn't even dent when I tapped it with my fork, and the steak wasn't even hot in the middle. The cost for this unlisted special? $40.00! Which, given that these specials are, judging by reviews here, practically standard entrees, seems rather underhanded when the priciest listed menu item is only $15.00. If the dish had has been above and beyond expectations, I wouldn't have minded at all, but that was not the case here.

Even the dessert, which was described as having a coffee chocolate filling, was rather bland, not as rich or decadent as something called Mississippi Mud Pie ought to be.

My fellow diners were similarly a bit let down by their meals. While everything sounded good on paper, nothing really lived up to expectations. We did enjoy the cheesecake and the onion rings, and the vanilla nitro porter was excellent, but overall we aren't sure if we'll be back.

Re: parking: the Lodge next door shares their extended lot with the restaurant, so go straight to that, don't try to work your way into the lot down and behind them or block the street against...

This was a short notice go to spot for dinner and beverages with a bud who is in town for business. It was recommended by a bud of ours and that recommendation was spot on. We were told get the pork chop.

The place is a small, Bavarian looking home in its previous life but now a restaurant. Parking is nil in the rear but the owner made arrangements with the bank next door so parking is easy.

1st note they have outdoor seating. Their entrance is funny, like walking up to a strangers home. Upon walking in the main door, its small, tight, and a miniatured size bar off to the immediate right. The bar was packed with 7 people, that is the bars capacity, so we had to get a table.

Nice selection of beers. I looked at the menu, and asked myself what pork chop? When I asked our waitress she lit up. You guys have never been here before. Ok. That did it! It's not on the menu but they tell every newbie about it.

Simply put, it's a single pork chop the size of my foot, cooked to a beautiful pink, mashed potatoes, and green beans. This was not only the biggest, but the most tender, tasty, and largest pork chop I've ever had. If you love great steak cooked medium rare, you must get in your car, and go order this MUST have pork chop! I can't express it more clearly. This was it. The wholly grail of pork chops! The chop was so big I couldn't finish it so ate the rest for breakfast. WOW is an understatement. Even sliced and reheated the next day WOW!

I will be...
