Seating for ~20 people, two mini bar tables and 5 regular alongside the side wall. Bar tables do not have access to outlets so keep in mind!
bagels were out to just cinnamon raisin bagels at 12:30pm on Saturday (they’re open till 6 though, so I would expect a replenishment cycle?), got The Goat (listing ingredients on a paper menu someplace so we don’t have to bother asking the server to list three different specials would be helpful), bagel itself was good even though was not my first choice, didn’t seem that toasted but also seemed fine to me. I felt it lacked salt and asked for some but they said they weren’t able to/didn’t have any… which I find a bit odd and frustrating.
Maple latte was nice as I’m from NH and as a former barista, used to have those all the time — steaming could be a little better but was not burnt or over aerated like a Cappuccino so I’m content.
Overall, $22 for a slightly embellished bagel and a latte is a bit much… especially without the option of adding basic salt/pepper.
Staff were friendly and nice which I always appreciate!
Compostable lids and cups, lovvvve!!
crowd seems like it may be on the younger side (early 20s) but did see a few folks over late 20s if that matters to you.
They have WiFi.
There is parking for ~4 cars and 2 temporary 10 minute spots. Space is small but can work with a small/medium van. Additional garage parking alongside the street (just would not fit...
Read moreI must admit that the first couple of times I purchased coffee at Vigilante, I left with a bad taste for the place. Overall the coffee was good. Many of my friends say they don't like it, but I love a super strong cup, and this place makes a solid cup of powerful joe.
So I was sour on the "attitude" I received from the staff (clearly I was neither young enough nor hip enough) and figured I'd not be back.
Then I needed to prepare a proposal on a drab and rainy day. So I walked to the shop and purchased an Americano and sat down at a table with my tablet.
Four hours and two Americanos later, my opinion of the place had softened. The buzz of the other patrons working was great, and the music being played was an eclectic mix of "curated" rock era songs. Very impressive.
When I asked the staff who selected the music, I was told "usually it's the bartender" (not "barista"), which was delivered with a strong dose of smug disdain for my "uncool" question.
Somehow I enjoyed it all thoroughly and will patronize this establishment again next time I need to get down to some writing and be powered with a strong good coffee served with a healthy dose of hipster...
Read moreI have come here few times. I love the local coffee in the ceramic mugs here. My choice is mocha or vanilla latte. We do recommend the mint chocolate biscotti, goes well with the coffee. The barista are really helpful and nice people. They had good number of vegan alternatives for milk in the coffee. Secret there is, it doesn't change the good coffee taste. Try it, might help the environment one coffee at a time. The ambiance was nice, soulful and peaceful in the late evening. It gave us nice thoughts and made us craft beautiful food for thoughts and conversations. We even wrote some down our memory lane. Amazed by my newly found experiences at this coffee place, it has moved high in the list of my to go local coffee places to fancy my fantasies.
PS: the barista had made the art on the coffee with cream and froth beautifully, but we spoilt it by dipping in the spoon for personal tasting and naughty reasons. So disregard the bias on the disturbed good art in...
