Was told there would be a 45 minute wait. I'm currently 2 hours in and there's no hope in sight.
Day 6: I'm beginning to experience the initial effects of starvation, I've blacked out twice and my vision is beginning to get blurry. The booths don't offer much comfort for sleep and are the source of much conflict in my group. We've split into two factions in an effort to control seats, and I'm afraid it's only a matter of time before someone gets seriously hurt.
Day 17: We found a rat today. At first, it seemed like a blessing, but the two factions couldn't bring themselves to compromise. After a long and bloody struggle, my faction secured possession of the rat. Our satisfaction was short lived however, as we lost one of our own in the conflict, Scott. The rat did little to quench the hunger in our stomach, and even less to silence the guilt in our hearts. Even so, there was only one thing left to do: survive.
Day 25: Things have only gotten worse. After two deaths from starvation, Curt and Kelly, we were forced to resort to desperate measures. We drew lots and killed and ate one of our own. I don't even know what it means to be human anymore... Is it even worth trying to survive if this is the life I'm doomed to live? If I somehow make it out alive, how will I ever be able to forgive myself for the things I've done?
Day 36: I'm the last one. Every one of my friends is gone: their corpses litter the restaurant floor like leaves on a gusty Autumn day. Autumn. I don't remember the last time I went outside, I wonder if anyone even noticed I'm gone, if anyone even cares. I've got no food left, there's nothing but bones on the bodies of my friends. There's only one way left to ease the pain in my stomach: the wait staff.
Day 43: I've slaughtered the entire staff save one: the manager. He's currently locked himself in the bathroom, but I know he can't last long with nothing to eat and nowhere to run. I've got what's left of the wait staff to of the occupy me in the meantime.
Day 44: I can't believe my ears, but I'm certain. Loud and clear: "Ian Matson, party of 12." It felt like a dream as the manager walked me to the table and sat me down: all the blood and flies seemed to melt away as the prospect of a meal surfaced in my mind. I'm going to make it I'm going to make it I'm going to make it I'm going to make it
Day 45: My mind was soaring as I walked out the doors into the open air for the first time in over 45 days. The warmth of sunshine on my damp cold skin filled me with a joy I had long forgotten. A concept foreign to me began to rise in my darkened chest: hope. Despite this, I know I will never forget the things I saw, the things I did. The weight of each one of my friend's lives hangs on my back, pulling me back to the depths I hope to forget. Though I made it out alive, I may never truly feel alive again.
TLDR: Food was good,...
Read moreMy family and I have tried this place several times. The ONLY reason we kept coming back is that my son LOVES the pazookie desert (sp?).
Tonight was the last straw. Keep in mind that my young kids get a bit creative with their ordering, but this place is a disaster. Hardly anybody in the restaurant, maybe 15% capacity, about 9 PM. Ice tea comes with no sweetener, which I had asked for. Flagged down about 4 different wait staff asking if they had any, finally after about 10 minutes I went to the bar and got some myself. Kids meals came (ordered off the adult menu as they are older). Daughter only ate a few bites of hers... Bland. Son's plain pasta noodles had red pepper flakes all over it. The menu has you order the Pazookie with your meal so you don't have to wait for it excessively, well, that comes about 2 minutes after our dinner. So the ice cream is melting on top of the brownie the whole time we are eating our entree's. Well, I had the waiter head back to the kitchen for some plain pasta noodles, which took even longer. Staff looks like they are more interested in getting things cleaned up so they can go home. It's St. Pats day in a college town, nobody there??? I think I know why.
Finally, waiter asks if I want another ice tea. Sure, it's been empty a while. And a check when you can do it. Promptly a check arrives with a double charge for spaghetti and meatballs, and an additional charge for a refill on ice tea. About another 20 dollars over what we should have been charged, and the pazookie ice cream has all melted over the top of the hot brownie.
Manager was nice enough to fix the bill and comp the pazookie, but I've had it with this place. No attention to detail. Weird menu, strange spices, and my wife nor I can ever find anything we want to eat. Even the burger is smaverage.... The Pazookie is awesome.... But that's the only star they are getting. I'm making them at home from now on...
I'm not...
Read moreOn Monday evening we went in to enjoy a nice meal and what we got really was anything but. We should have known from the ten minute wait to be seated when we could only view about a dozen or so patrons in the restaurant at the time.
The staff while friendly and as attentive as could be, but the one waitress we could see seemed to be overwhelmed performing multiple duties in addition to trying to be attentive to her tables.
We ordered a Mediterranean Tacos and Ribeye. The Mediterranean tacos came with a cuscus salad that was uneatable due shear about or vinegar in it, and the tacos had so much acidity to them they actually irritated the skin.
The ribeye was of significant size and perfectly cooked; however there was not an ounce of flavor to the meat, the visible seasoning did nothing to enhance the flavorless meat, and the only saving grace was the mushrooms and onions I ordered to go with the steak. Simply put, if you are going to charge steakhouse prices for your steaks, it should have steakhouse flavor.
Due to the issue with the Mediterranean plate, we finally flagged down an employee to the let overwhelmed waitress know we needed some attention. And while she didn't hesitate to try and make the issue right, we now had two different meals at two different times, and it turned what should have been a plesant evening into an evening of regret.
While it's been a while since I have eaten at a BJ's, I have never had such issues before. I don't know if this is a location issue, or a one off situation. But given this experience I would...
