Camino’s is a Mexican “cafe” that isn’t very memorable and just failed to stand out from the rest.
There is easily at least 20+ different Mexican restaurants in town and with Camino’s you can do much better going elsewhere but you can also do much worst, which is why it’s just a middle of the pack or average for the best Mexican restaurants in town.
Really wanted to leave two stars due to the staff, our waitress was extremely impatient when we were deciding what to order, she came to the table at least three times asking if we were ready even though we were still looking through our menus, took us about 15 minutes to decide so it wasn’t like we took an hour or something.
Then when we were about halfway done eating she asked if we needed anything else and how many to go boxes did we need...
seriously rushing us this whole meal which was also just bland, beans had no flavor, beef fajita also had barely to no flavor and the Queso was even room temperature.
Food looked great as you can tell from the pictures below but pictures are definitely deceiving as most of the food had no flavor.
Chips seemed homemade and tasted great but was really hoping for a new best place in town but definitely won’t be...
Read moreI tried Caminos Mexican Cafe today.... Well I didn't get a 5 star meal. Maybe they were just having an off day... :( I ordered the mixed fajitas and the fajita platter came with 3 pieces of beef and 3 pieces of chicken and a pile of onions for $13.99. The flavor was ok truly nothing that I would remember. The rice and beans were ok nothing special there either. So.... I love tortilla's and if they aren't homemade I will just not return to any restaurant, I can buy store bought ones myself. That being said they do make there own tortilla's, however they were just not good I don't know if the person who made them didn't know what they were doing or what. The taste wasn't awful but it wasn't great either but as soon as I unwrapped them they had a strange texture started to dry out and literally crumbled like a cracker. It was too difficult to wrap anything so I had to just break off pieces... I didn't finish them just a big crumbly mess. Overall not a memorable experience I don't think I would...
Read moreWe sat outside in the shade, and ordered the torta birria. The portion size was large, my partner finished mine for me - and the avocado and vegetables extremely fresh. Everything was of good quality. I’d like more spice to the birria, but my partner felt it hit the right note for him. Priced well, the only thing I’d like is more frequent drink refills. It may have been we got forgotten outside. We were also a little rushed to leave by the waitress, when we wanted a leisurely lunch she wanted our plates back.
Unfortunately, half of our meal wasn’t so fun due to the large family who came for lunch after church and chose to have a shouted conversation right by our table as they departed for around 10 minutes. It ruined the ambience, and they could do with paying more attention in church about respect for others and grace. We will be back - but not on a Sunday, as clearly some of the customers leave a lot...
