Newk's Eatery — Restaurant in College Station

I've been a fan of Newks since I lived in Jackson MS. But the College Station location has been a continuous disappointment. In a restaurant that serves this much salad one would think they could keep the salad fresh. On the last 6 visits I have received wilted brown lettuce in my salad. I've always loved the chicken salad from Newks. Especially the to go version served on sliced wheat. But this location never has one in the to go case. AND when I ask them to make one they always refuse. Now we know they have the bread because there are other sandwiches on the bread I like. Which tells me they are simply refusing to offer the customer service I have come to expect from a restaurant I choose to give my money. Last but absolutely not least, they seem to be offended by the fact I would request anything other than exactly what is on the menu. If this were a one off event i could understand. Usually pretty good, but those making food really need to read order instructions and pay attention to detail. Got food delivered through DoorDash last night, my husband couldn’t even eat his sandwich which was COVERED in onions, despite our request for no onions. Disappointed, especially since this food isn’t cheap.

**update to add that management contacted us about our experience and we returned. Our food was perfect, tasty, made right and their iced tea is amazingly good and fresh! I normally don’t get anything besides water when I go out but decided this time to be different and get iced tea, and we were all not disappointed. The staff here is patient and welcoming. This is my go-to lunch spot. The rewards app doesn't want to play nice with my (older) phone, but the staff is always friendly and more than happy to look up my phone number to make sure I get my points or see if I have rewards to use. I have had a couple of the salads (Cobb, Chef, and Green Goddess), and some of the sandwiches (Newk's Club, French Dip, Turkey Avocado, and Roast Beef). My two favorites are the Roast Beef sandwich and the Turkey Avocado, (but I sub provolone cheese for the swiss).
