When we go out to eat, Fast Foods and family restaurants compose the base level of our normal budget. Then when we want an upgrade for a celebration, the mid level can reach $35 to $50 per person without alcohol. Then on major anniversary or super special occasions, we will go above that, which I call "Fine Dining". Bonefish Grill falls in that mid-range price point and when I spend more, I naturally expect more. For this visit, a Sunday night, we made the mistake to not reserve and waited almost 30 minutes for a table, thanks to 50% Covid capacity. But at 35 degrees outside, and with two elderly guests, it was not an option to wait outside. The car became our waiting room, something we could have planned better for sure. Upon being seated, we waited a bit too much for our first contact with the Server. Another 5 minutes to bring our Ice Teas and my glass of water. Since he wasn't using a tray, it took him several trips to complete that simple task, including one for the lemons. No ice in my water for some reason, which he never refilled throughout the meal. The Bang Bang Shrimp never disapoint, they are after all the reason we came here to begin with. Still as tasty, generous and delicious as the first time. First visit for my mother in law, and she said they were "the best tasting Shrimp she ever had". Made me smile, that was worth the trip, right there. The Mussels were perfectly cook, which is rare because restaurants have a tendency to overcook them and they get chewy real fast. Did not care for the sauce, too sweet in my taste but I can see others liking it a lot, a matter of opinion. For my main dish, I made the mistake to order the Sirloin instead of the Filet, with the Crab Cake. The filet would have been a lot less tough, no doubt. The Crab Cake was more like a pile of Crab than a "cake" per se, but was excellent with the sauce offered on the side. The fresh sauteed side of Spinach was a huge portion, deliciously buttery but not salted hardly at all. Garlic Mashed Potatoes were pleasant and well flavored. I should have been offered a steak sauce for my Beef. We skipped desserts, but I must point out the bread and dipping Olive Oil: one of the best dipping bread served in any restaurant! With four at our table, it would have been nice to be offered a refill, but fair enough, we did not request one. Over all for that price point, the food was good although could have used some TLC to be truly excellent. Service was not up to par for a white table cloth setting, and a bill over $135 without wine or liquor. I shall attribute that to the innexperience of this polite young man, needing...
Read moreMe and my husband went here to eat for our anniversary and were very disappointed. We waited about 10 minutes before a hostess even spoke to us at the front door. The customer who was there before us left out of frustration. When someone finally came, even though we had reservations we were told there would be a 10 minute “or so” wait. There were ALOT of empty tables but she said it was because there were only two servers. Fine, but there were maybe 3 tables and some people at the bar. I felt like two servers could handle that. After standing at the entrance for some time the hostess comes back to seat us and I kid you not, our feet were almost stuck to the ground the floor was so sticky. The decor by our table was caked in dust, the seats still had food on them and had to be cleaned when we sat down. And yes we made a few calls to see if anyone else could get us in but no, and we were hungry so we stayed. If i could rate the bar i would give it 5 stars because the drinks were delicious. However, the food was on the bland side but not terrible. Crab cakes mushy on the inside. Bang bang shrimp was good. Bread and dipping oil was pretty tasty. I was schocked to see my husbands $40 plate of fish had toddler sized potions. I asked if that’s the correct size and the server said yes. My pasta was $20 and he had less food then me. And I also didn’t expect seasonal vegetables to be just broccoli. Table was never cleaned. By the time we packed up the food we didn’t eat (minus the garlic and herb sponges or potatoes) the server only took one plate. No water refills. The server was nice but not very helpful. Besides bringing the food she was gone. The table behind us had the nicest conversation with their server who was helpful and friendly. Made sure they had everything they needed and checked in on them. Talked about his cats, it was lovely to hear, I just wished we had the same attention. That was our first time and will not be returning...
Read moreArrival 7:15 with resevations for 7:30.....We dined here this evening and the service was subpar. There were 11 in our party but only 9 of us ordered. The time to receive our beverages was 15 minutes. We ordered shortly after and the salads that four of us had took at least 30 minutes to come out. We were offered bread after waiting an extremely long time. The spinach I received was too salty. I asked personally for my dessert and check around 8:15-8:20. I didn't receive either until 9 pm. And it was wrong. We ordered a creme brûlée as well--that was supposed to be complimentary due to other issues with someone in our party's meal--and it never came out. So I had to wait again for a corrected ticket. I would've gladly just paid for it had it even been delivered to the table. When the management came over to the table, the reason given was that our party was large and it just takes longer. However, another party of 8 just a few feet away, ordered drinks, received food and desserts, and their checks AND were gone before we were. Her excuse was unacceptable and she was slightly rude by not allowing us to express our discontent with the service--interrupting before we had a chance to finish telling her what the problem was. It's 9:15 and I'm still sitting here waiting on a corrected ticket. I presume it will be 9:45 before I actually leave. The restaurant is nearly empty....I will not be returning to this particular establishment. We came to celebrate and our celebration was dampened by the excessive wait times and horrible service. Save yourself the headache and visit the Cordova location instead. :Update: The final manager that came over at the last end was EXCEPTIONAL. She was fabulous! Nikki from Louisina gave me chills and she was absolutely amazing! Hormones at 8 1/2 months pregnant can really take your patience....and I was smiling by the time I...
