We ate at Firebird's for my mother's 81st birthday and it was a complete nightmare. We had a party of five,so not a large table. Our order was very normal from the menu nothing put of the ordinary no changes or special requests. It took 15 minutes to get our iced teas and waters. When your order came one order was missing all of his sides, and both orders with baked potatoes had no butter so it was then requested along with the missing sides. Almost 15 minutes passed while our good was getting cold when we finally asked another server for help. Within one minute or less he had everything we needed at the table along with refills....in the meantime our server was still missing, supposedly off to get our butter and sides. Our food was eaten and drinks empty before we saw our server again. ** Upon entry there was a server standing on top of a table divider with customers in both booths on either side, in order to turn the shades down to cut sun out of windows. As we were walking in he jumped down off this four foot divider as we were passing through. ** The only thing pleasant about the restaurant was the kindness of the server named Verdell for jumping in and saving our very expensive meal. With a smile and no questions he got all we needed quickly and was very professional. *" This place is not at all what it used to be. The prices should be half of what they are. I would compare it to...
Read moreThey say the era of the mall is over and while I do understand malls are losing popularity for a variety of reasons, it is not a universal experience. I lived in Birmingham for work last year and they have several malls that are absolutely thriving. Why? HEAVY POLICE AND SECURITY PRESENCE. It’s really not rocket science but for whatever reason, anything that Memphis touches just can’t get it right. So at Carriage crossing, which was once thriving and filled with great shopping and food, there are just as many “City Gear” type stores as there are empty store fronts. We went on a Tuesday afternoon around lunch time and it felt like an old western where you see the tumbleweeds float by. Absolute ghost town. On the occasion a car did pass by us as we walked around, it absolutely reeked of weed. While we were in bath and body works, I overheard two of the employees contemplating if they should call security over someone who had just shop lifted. So sad. This is why we can’t have...
Read moreI think this is one of the prettiest, most unique, outdoor malls I've seen. I love window shopping, and u can do that here. With your dog on leash if u like. So many great restaurants to choose from. I didn't even have to use my car the whole time. Between the beautiful Courtyard by Marriott hotel in Collierville, which is right on the mall property, I had everything I needed. And the people at the Courtyard were outstanding! So friendly! And it may be the cleanest hotel I've seen. I noticed they had health inspection scores posted which were 100% in cleanliness, and 100% in the restaurant. That's the most important thing to me when it comes to a hotel so i...
