Oh my God! Seriously phenomenal Thai food! Really well executed, great service, clean atmosphere! Definitely returning!

UPDATE

We have returned several times and without fail every visit the food gets spicier and spicier. I love hot food. I love Thai food. However, there's a difference between spicy and borderline inedible. I hope that this place can chill out on the spice so they don't start losing customers. I've brought several people here and every time there is at least one dish that we cannot eat because it's too spicy. Even the salads will blow your mouth off. Definitely ask for mild if you want to...

We visited Colonial Beach for 2 nights, and ate diner at the Orchid Thai both nights - it was that good.

Each night I chose something I have never had before, and all was absolutely delicious. I tried a soup and entree each night. My wife ordered the Pad Thai each night, as she thought this was so good she had to have it twice. We also ordered the Mango / Sticky Rice for desert each night. What a unique and tasty treat!!!

The presentation of the dishes, and the pleasant atmosphere simply added to our enjoyment.

Was really excited for this meal and was sorely disappointed.

The appetizer sampler was 2 overcooked shrimp, one undercooked springroll and a couple of dumplings on a bed of soup crackers (for $10!) And the pad thai, while a much larger portion (for $17), was nearly flavorless. Despite being one of 6 people in the restaurant, my food came out cold and all of the chicken was chewier than beef jerky.

It's an A-1 location with lovely waitstaff, but their food was wildly different from what the other reviews claimed. Hopefully this was just an off day...
