Sunflower Cuisine — Restaurant in Colonial Beach

We tried Orchid Thai the week before and would highly recommend that place instead. Food was better and the service was too! See below for our terrible experience.

It’s unfortunate because the food was good, but the service was so bad I will never go back. Went out for my birthday dinner. We got our drinks and apps in a normal amount of time, but waited a while until our food. No big deal except when they brought the food, they brought 2 of the 4 plates. We waited to eat and after about 10 minutes, those with food started to eat. After 20 minutes, our waitress was no where to be seen and we asked the other waitress when the sushi plates would be out for the other two people at the table who had not eaten and she said there are two different kitchens so she doesn’t know. 30 minutes later one plate came out and 10 minutes after that, the fourth person got their food. Then, our waiter was still MIA, so we asked the other server for the check and a box. She seemed flustered and mentioned she’d have to get our waiter and went and started whispering to the hostess (manager?) about the other waiter and our table. The other waiter ended up bringing us the check (original waiter still MIA) and a wet to go container. Then the hostess, maybe manager had the audacity to say “I’m so glad I was able to get you a table” LOL. I wish you didn’t. Worst birthday...

Came in on a Friday about 5:30. Waitress saw us come in but never acknowledged us. I ventured to the bar and a lady customer siting there said the waitress stepped out and she usually sits people. When we finally saw her she acted like we were a bother and said do you have reservations. When we said no, she rolled her eyes. We had no idea you needed one. She said we can’t take you til 730. Restaurant has plenty of tables. She went on to roll her eyes and from that it left a negative impression. We won’t be back. It’s not a good feeling to be treated that way. And we really wanted to give this place a try and even more reason to treat others how you want to be treated. Customer service is lacking and I so wanted to be Gordon Ramsey and take over with a big smile but that’s not gonna happen here. So this trip was unfortunately very disappointing. I had the the pad cashew which was very good. My wife ordered two rolls the spicy Tuna and the salmon and a house salad. The house salad was underwhelming and extremely small portion for the price. Her rolls came out on a dirty plate when I say dirty it was disgusting oily and food particles all over it. The waitress took it back and that's the last we heard. We ended up having to go else where to eat because they did not replace her rolls.... never apologized or anything. This experience was disappointing as we where looking forward to it per the other reviews. I would have to say don't waste your time and...
