This is my third time eating here, second dining-in. Before I say anything negative, everything I’ve ever eaten here has been so delicious. The portions are small for the price, but I do feel full after a meal. However, I have many issues with everything else about the restaurant.
When they first opened, I was walking down the sidewalk and had multiple staff members walk outside their garage door in an attempt to get me to eat there. Frankly, that’s rude and unprofessional.
I have never experienced good service here. I’m guessing they’re understaffed, but I have stopped by when the restaurant is nearly empty and the service is still very slow. It’s almost impossible to flag down a waiter. I asked a question to the waitress for my table, and it took her way too long to come back, only to re-ask me what my question was and THEN check with the kitchen. My friend and I each ordered a pizza, and hers came out 15 minutes after mine.
Additionally, to get more water, you have to order it again through the table — they don’t refill it, and it takes a long time to get another glass.
In general, the problem mostly revolves around the electronic tables. The staff isn’t checking in on your table because you order it on the screen, so it makes the service lacking and slow.
There’s no way to turn off the table completely if you want a regular meal. They’re so touch sensitive that closing down the menu doesn’t let you easily ignore the tables. I don’t want to eat a meal with my friends when there’s a giant distracting screen in front of us.
It is so, so, so, unsanitary to be touching the table to do literally anything. I was apprehensive about eating my meal because I had no idea how clean the tables were before sitting down; not to mention, no matter how clean the tables are to begin with, if you don’t wash or sanitize your hands before eating, you’ll get whatever’s on your own hands back on the table.
It’s generally impossible to make substitutions. I have many dietary restrictions, and I find it difficult to order anything without it costing an extra $3-4. There’s also no way to make substitutions through the table. You have to ask a waiter, which, as previously mentioned, is hard to do because they do not check up on the tables.
I’d like to love this restaurant because the food is so good, plus it’s right next to my campus and they give us a discount, but that’s the only upside. If the food weren’t as good as it is, I would not come back. I think there’s a lot of room for improvement and I hope it can improve because I wish the best...
Read moreThe food here was really great, and overall the place has the potential to be really awesome. However there were a few details that put a dent in our experience.
Staff did a great at bringing out food and drink items quickly, however they weren’t that best a pre-bussing. When you have a table that’s interactive and you can’t see it under plates, and none of the staff takes the empty plates, it’s a little frustrating. Especially considering we were ordering pretty often, there were plenty of people dropping items off but no one wanted to grab empty plates or drinks.
The music was weirdly low. I don’t know if that’s the goal, but it was so quiet in there that it made it uncomfortable to talk at a normal octave. I could hear every table’s conversation around me. Not saying you should blast the music to high heavens, it’s not a night club obviously.. but a few notches would have made it less awkward.
Hours need to be adjusted online and on Facebook. Maps and Facebook say that you’re open 11am to 10pm. However, when we started to slow down ordering food but still planned on drinking and possibly getting desserts, we got the feeling that the staff was trying to get us to leave. The gentleman asked if we wanted dessert and we said we weren’t sure yet, and that some people were still eating their entrees. Not much later asked if we were ready to cash out. Those same people were still eating their pizzas. When she came back again asking if we were ready to cash out, we decided we’d go elsewhere because clearly we weren’t wanted there anymore. While cashing out the gentleman asked if we could hurry it along, because there was another table waiting… why? There’s another larger table upstairs that wasn’t being used and several other tables open for smaller tables. When we left, we noticed that they did not have another table waiting and that they were closing at 8pm. I don’t understand why the server felt the need to lie, all he had to say was that they close at 8. Or give us a last call, so we knew that it was shutting down soon.
Overall the staff was friendly, but lacked basic service and hospitality skills.
I’m excited to go back in a month or two when the “new” wears off and the kinks...
Read moreWe were pretty excited at first, the interactive tables seemed cool..except you order by “placemat” and that means that your food comes at different times than anyone at your table - even when you time it with everyone sitting with you bc I think your competing with every other table in the place. The games on it were fine, except this is your table and it’s going to be filled with drinks and plates. Wasn’t very busy and the tables weren’t bussed the whole time, even though multiple people were finished with all of their food when some hadn’t even gotten one of the things they ordered. So we just had empty plates/glasses while other people waited to eat. However, the bartender was really fast when a drink was ordered. No complaints there, until they served a pregnant person in our party tequila when she asked BEFORE ordering if she could have a mocktail, was told yes and even told how to order it. We had to stand up and get attention of the servers for anything (like paying or the persons pizza they forgot) bc they drop a plate/drink off and go. We tried to be patient and waited 20 minutes to pay and finally had to get up and stop a server so we could leave. By the end of the expensive meal, we all just wish we could have had an actual server to take the order, time it right and let us pay when we’re done. We can bring an iPad if we want to color...
