I have worked at a similar juice bar/smoothie shop for around 6 months now that uses all organic fruits vegetables and juices not made from concentrate. I wanted to see how clean juice compared to it, as it seemed like a very similar place from looking at the online menu. When I first got to this location, it was a Saturday afternoon and I had to park in the nearby Scheels parking lot and walk across the street as the parking lot in front of the establishment was completely full. This isn’t really Clean Juice’s problem specifically but this is very inconvenient when going to any of the locations in this mini mall area. When walking in, I had to make sure I was at the right place because the sign had said “juice” and the clean part before it must have fallen off and never been replaced.
I ordered the ultimate grilled cheese, the detoxifying one, and the nutty bowl and then was told the scanner wasn’t working so I was not able to use Apple Pay. The ultimate grilled cheese tasted pretty decent but seemed like something I could easily make at home as it was simply toasted bread with some pieces of spinach thrown on it, sliced tomato, the cheese, and hummus spread on the bread slices. However this isn’t so much the problem as my main issue was how expensive the price was for what I was getting.
I am pretty picky with my acai bowls, but I would have to say that the nutty bowl I purchased was at least the best item out of my order. I thought it was a little odd that syrup and almond butter is blended with acai, however it was a different, interesting taste than what I’m used to. My main complaints about this bowl is that it is much smaller maybe a 20oz bowl? than the acai bowls (32oz) at my place of work for the same exact price. There was also the problem of the bowl presentation being adequate at best. There definitely could have been more banana slices, as well as strawberry slices with a neater line of granola rather than it being scattered across the top and partially inside of the acai. For the people that have never had an acai bowl, all of the bowls here are pretty different from your usual acai bowl aside from the berry bowl. This may be a good option if you are looking for something different. My last major complaint is the juice that I got. It was a 12 oz juice that was about the same price as my other items I had ordered .
The juice was really good but was the exact same type of juice as one of the juices my place of work sells with the difference being that my place of work has 24oz cups for the same price, double the amount!
All in all, my main complaint with this place is the price and not so much the taste of my items as I mostly enjoyed them. I was very dissatisfied with the small amount of juice I had recieved as well as the smaller sized acai bowl. If possible I would probably have to give this place 2.5 stars. I believe the acai bowl presentation may have just been a problem with the person working there at the time I visited so I will have to give the benefit of the doubt and say 3 stars as I believe 2 is a bit too harsh. Will probably not be...
Read moreWas in the store yesterday for green juice(the glow one) and beet juice(the energy one) . I added a ginger shot for $2 and kale to the beet juice for another $2. The ladies in the store were nice. I’ve been to many organic juice bars and love to order green juice with a ginger shot, similar to what I bought. Unfortunately the green juice here was terrible. The energy one was good although I saw no trace of kale and actually asked on my way out if they added kale. I make beet juice at home too and when you add kale the color is somewhat different. There was something in the green juice that was overpowering (I’m thinking cucumber) and it wasn’t a good balance. No taste of ginger whatsoever. I make green juice at home too with ginger and I’ve had this done at juice bars so I know when there’s no ginger or a very tiny amount of ginger. I went back to the store even though I really didn’t want to. The drink cost $12, and I just couldn’t trash it without trying to get my refund in this economy. So I went back to the store, respectfully and politely asked if a refund was possible and apologized for the inconvenience. The lady offered to add more ginger but I politely declined and asked if it’s possible to refund. The lady told me the manager was not in store and couldn’t do a refund that he’d be in office the following day. It’s the following day and I call back to follow up. The lady says the manager is not in and to call tomorrow. I asked her to tell the manager to call me when she’s in. I don’t think this is right, and I’m posting this to share...
Read moreAbsolutely LOVE this place! It's a refreshing healthy alternative to the fast food and restaurant chains that seem to be everywhere. Seriously, where can we really get a healthy drink or meal outside our homes today? It's frustrating! Then I discovered this place! Wow. Their food (fresh juices, smoothies, food) are all made from organic fresh ingredients. I've visited here several times now and I haven't experienced indigestion or bloating that seems to come standard with most gas station, fast food or restaurant chains. The staff have been very friendly and they're quick! The truth we've all come to learn is we can't be healthy if we're not changing our unhealthy eating habits. Those habits include being so busy that we're choosing eating establishments for how fast we can grab & go during our own rat races. What's so refreshing about Clean Juice is you can grab & go and get something truly nourishing for good health, whether you're grabbing breakfast, lunch or dinner! My favorite is to pair a juice with one of their bowls or wraps. Yesterday, I tried their fall / pumpkin smoothie which...
