I don’t claim to have found the Truth. But I know It has found me. And I know, through that, this is no place in which you will find God. You may see a glimpse; in the face of a passerby who is trying. In the silent prayers of the broken hearted. You may see a glimpse! A fragment. A piece. But God, but God is not here. He is in very few people here. For this is one of those unfortunate churches who have fallen from grace and are so blind to self indulgence they cannot recognise the truth or that which should be. They are so distracted with being popular, accepted, adored, worshiped, loved, and followed by the world, BY THE WORLD!! The very one which Jesus said WOULD NOT ACCEPT US! Which hung Him on a cross, that they don’t even know who He is anymore. Aside from being a source of easy income that is. It’s amazing to me that we aren’t meant to be like the rest of this world, and they, don’t want to be like us, but this place acts like it. They have forgotten that the ONLY One who’s opinion matters, is Christs. We don’t live to please the world. We live to please Him. When I go to worship, I go to worship my God. Not the “worship leader” not his/her band under neon spotlights in a COLD DARK room with cement floors so that when your coffee spills, it’s okay. Mock the House of God! The very place that is sacred, let us dress in whatever we want, let us eat and spill drinks, and whisper and gossip to our friends during the sermon. Let’s update our phones, play on our apps, and flirt during worship and sermon and prayer... again I say, in a dark dimly lit place. They are not be bearers of the LIGHT here, they are bringers of the darkness. So run. Do not go here. You will not find Him here. You’ll find what’s easy and makes you “feel good”. You’ll find yourself on the wide path, everyone who doesn’t know Him, is also skipping along.

Read moreI attended this church for a long time, was even on the volunteer list for a while. I was here before the Pastor Dave scandal and the shooting. I was here during the Hallelujah Nights (Halloween), which they cancelled, one thing that I felt was probably amongst the best community give-back I'd ever seen in a church. Very disappointed that they cancelled.
During my time there, I was disappointed about a number of factors. The first being that they would not let my son with a learning disability study in the same Sunday school session as his older brother, they were only off by a couple of years and should have been permitted to remain together.
I think my second disappoint was when I saw the church budget and if memory serves, about 75% or more went toward 'entertainment'. I also remember the Pastor had a huge six-digit plus salary and a multi-million dollar home, we was also quite unapproachable, never really had the opportunity to 'meet' him directly. He was just too important.
I think my final disappointment was when I had a disagreement with my spouse at the time of dismissal from services. When we got home, apparently a police officer was looking to talk to us. Nothing happened from the police coming, everything was cordial, but I remembered the scripture saying that Christians should not be taking other Christians before a judge (or police), especially when there was no issue other than argument involved. They should have called us or spoken with us directly, not called the cops.
I never gave my real address to a church ever again, and I never returned to that church either. I guess I just had too many...

You can have as much or little involvement as you want. If you want to be connected they have section parties every Sunday to help you get to know the people sitting around you. If you are looking for a more intimate service Friday nights is a smaller community and we have been able to really connect with some people here. We LOVE first Wednesdays (all worship).
We have recently had some need for support from the church, we have a friend who is disabled who lost all of her belongings and her home to a bug bed infestation. When we reached out to the church to help they stepped up immediately and have helped organize donations of essentials (furniture, dishes, clothes, etc) for her and even arranged a moving truck and volunteers to help her move into her new home.
Amazing church, amazing community. If anyone is nervous about attending bc it's a mega church and you don't want to get lost in the shuffle make sure you talk to the greeters when you first walk in and let them know you are new. They will make sure you are settled and welcomed and make sure to visit guest central so they can help you get involved.
Ultimately your experience is going to be what you make it. If you want to disappear in the crowd you can do that, but if you want to connect with a vibrant and alive church community you can absolutely...
