Kelly O'Brians Sports Bar — Restaurant in Colorado Springs

this was my time coming here with my friend to watch SNF. we were quiet pretty much the whole game. then, the last play of the game (a field goal that put the game in overtime) we cheered. jess, the bartender, came over and told us we had to be quiet. excuse me? is this not a sports bar? the whole place is decked out in chiefs and other teams stuff so you would think it’s a friendly place to watch football. we weren’t acting fools. we were sitting at the bar and cheered for one play. god forbid we do that at a sports bar. mind you, other people around us were cheering and clapping the whole game so why were we singled out? after this happened we closed out so we could leave. she apologized to us multiple times. guess she knew she was wrong. if we were acting crazy then sure tell us to be quiet but cheering for one play at a sports bar and getting yelled at for it is crazy. additionally, the people sitting around us told me and my friend that it gets way louder and crazier in there on other nights and no one is ever told to be quiet and that the bartender’s behavior was out of character for her. maybe she was just having a bad night. i don’t really care cuz im not gonna go here...

If you like a "self-serve" bar, this is the place for you - there is no table service. You have to go to the bar to order your food and to order drinks. Oh, by the way, there is only ONE spot you can do this so be prepared to stand in line for 15+ minutes on a weekend night.

Also be prepared to "bus" your own table as no staff makes rounds clearing plates, clearing empty beer bottles, giving water refills, or wipes down tables after people leave.

The karoake sound system is good, but their rotation order SUCKS! We had a group of eight that showed up at 7:30pm. We ate dinner, had drinks, and anticipated a fun night of singing (bringing good money for a night out). A few in our group signed up to sing when karaoke kicked off at 9pm and were placed in the rotation which was fine. After singing our songs we went back & signed up for another song to get back into the rotation.

HERE'S THE CATCH...it doesn't matter if you sang at 9pm and signed up for another song at 9:30pm...any NEW person (regardless of what time they walk thru the door) AUTOMATICALLY gets placed ahead of anyone who sang.

Needless to say, my friends and I will not be...

Always a great evening when we head down to the Springs! The food is great, the prices are some of the best in the Springs, and the live music acts that Julie brings in always rock!

Last Monday (January 28th, 2019) Rick Monroe came back to Kelly O'brien's after a two year gap. Whenever Rick Monroe shows up (another great friend for over 10 years) he brings an energy with him that comes through I the music he plays.

Kelly O'brien's is a great place for off duty soldiers and airmen to hang out, being close to both Fort Carson and Peterson AFB makes it a great place to come play some pool, throw some darts, watch "the game" on one of the many Flat Screen TV's, listen to music on the internet enabled jukebox, or just grab a beer with your Battle Buddies!

Julie the owner is a really great person who always seems to have the time to chat with everyone in the place and whether it's your first time in Kelly O'brien's or your thousandth time she treats everyone like a long lost friend as soon as she sees you!
