Usually, my posts start with something good about a location, followed by what can be improved, then complimenting (or criticizing, again) the location on one aspect or another. Today, this is not happening. This location, staffed by mostly teenagers (which can be a good thing!), has a lot to work on to become what should be standard at all KFC stores: quality food and great customer service, done quickly and correctly. Today was a total miss by the staff, by a wide margin.
First, the crew was lackadaisical, not attentive and would not follow the simple request to cook my food fresh, as it should be. When I requested a fresh drop, the answer I received was that all the food was cooked fresh... 15 minutes prior to my arriving. Mind you, this is the exact answer every fast food restaurant provides when they want their customers to go away. They don't cook fresh food, they just give you what's under the heater. This was strike one.
Not to be nagging but this person could truly care less about having their job. They're young so this is not a career for them; it's a stopping point along the way to many, name jobs that they will get hired for and fired from very quickly. Attitude = atrocious.
Second, let's talk about this "fresh food". It was old. It was not warm. It tasted underdone and was definitely not delicious. The next time I ask for fresh food and I'm denied, I will not only leave the location but I will write another scathing review to add to the list of "DO NOT EAT HERE" restaurants that I've accumulated from across the country.
Lastly, let's talk about cleanliness. Remember, this is a crew of teenagers and adults that are accustomed to having multitudes of displaced (homeless) citizens coming in and out of their doors during business hours. The location was much less than spotless; it was in terrible condition. The tables and floor were dirty, condiments were not stocked properly and there is a smell coming from the rear of the restaurant that no customer ever wants to experience. This was a hard fail and I'm sure they would not pass a safety inspection.
To make sure this sticks into the reader of this post's minds I will say once again: DO NOT EAT HERE. There will need to be a complete overhaul, from management to the cashiers and especially in the kitchen, before I will attempt to review this restaurant again. This experience is one I will never forget. I'm a long time KFC fan, from way back in the 1980's when I learned how to chew properly, so this was a complete tragedy.
They have a sister A&W/KFC location down the road, near SR115 and Fountain, that is far better at customer service, cleanliness and providing fresh food, than this location. Although I'm sure both stores are owned by different organizations, the staff at the location of Nevada and I-25 needs to be either fired and replaced or retrained completely. If the owners of this location care about their profits, they should investigate what's really happening here. They will not be pleased. Neither was I. 1 Star, bordering on 0 stars, was...
Read moreMy friends and I were trying out the fast food chicken sandwiches and came to this KFC knowing exactly what we wanted. We ordered 3 chicken sandwiches and a gallon of lemonade. We were told there would be a 15 minute wait and were asked to pull up. Our receipt time was 1:38pm at 1:52pm an employee came out and gave the people who were behind us their food. We asked if the wait would be much more and were told no, they're almost done with our order. At 2:08 the same employee came out and asked us what we ordered. At this time we were starting to be frustrated as this fast food was anything but fast. We waited another 20 minutes and decided to pull back up to the drive thru to inquire about why it was taking so long. When we got to the window the same employee tried to take our order... We informed her we already ordered an hour ago and were told it would be done in 15 minutes. An hour after originally ordering our food we were right back where we started. At this point we just requested a refund and the only okay part of this transaction happened, we were given a refund with no questions asked. We waited in the parking lot for over an hour repeatedly speaking with employees about our order while watching several people who came after us be served only to never receive our food. I will never go to this KFC again and I encourage other people to take their business elsewhere as well. The staff here obviously don't care about the experience of the customer. We wouldn't have even waited that long had they not pretended several times as though they were making our food....
Read moreThis was by far the worst fast food experience I've ever had.
I pulled into the drive-thru at around 5:10 PM on Monday, 7/14/25 and placed a simple order — 6-piece tender with coleslaw. There was only one car ahead of me, yet I waited nearly 20 minutes just to pull up to the window. When I got there, the cashier (receipt said RAELYNNNS) asked me again what I ordered. I told her. She closed the window, walked away, came back, asked again. I told her again. Then she told me the total was $20.54, and I paid her with a $20 and a $5.
She gave me a water… but no change. I had to ask. She said they were out of $1s and to pull around while she got the manager. I waited 15 more minutes, she finally brought the food, apologized, and still didn’t have my change. I asked again — she went inside.
10 minutes later she comes back and asks — I kid you not — “What did you order again?” I was literally eating in my car outside the front door at this point.
I told her for the fifth time: 6-piece tender, coleslaw, $20.54 total, paid $25.
After waiting even longer, I had to go inside myself to get my change. She was nowhere to be found, and another employee had to help me.
The whole process took nearly an hour just to place a basic order and get my change — and I had to ask for it multiple times.
I get that people have off days, but this level of disorganization and poor service is unacceptable. If management sees this — feel free to make it right. Otherwise, I’ll make sure everyone knows what kind of experience to...
