Thank you for reading my entire review.
How do you give a fair rating when one waitress was very helpful and motivated, but the other gave poor service and had a snotty, condescending attitude?
Zenobia deserves 5 stars. Great service with a smile.
In all fairness, the place was very busy because it was Veterans Day.
The host asked if I was okay being seated at the bar as he was already leading me to the bar. (I've worked in sales so I know that tactic.) He seemed to have noticed my hesitation, but he did not offer me another option, so, even though I did not want to sit at the bar, I cooperated. He was not rude or unfriendly. He was trying to keep up with the rush, and was pleasant enough.
I looked around after I sat down and there were two empty booths right behind me. I thought that since they were so crowded and busy he wanted to save those for more than one person, however, not even a minute later he seated a man in one of them, alone. Hmm
I was seated at the end of the bar right by the employee access. Employees were standing at the end of the bar wrapping flatware and talking. It was not a pleasant dining experience. I've been more comfortable at fast food joints.
A waitress that looked very young and wore her hair in two braids, Sophia, took my drink order. When she brought my drink, she asked if I was ready to order. I said I needed a few minutes. She then disappeared and never come back.
I was sitting there trying to keep myself busy sending text messages when Zenobia walked by smiling, so I stopped her and said that I seem to have lost my waitress. She asked me what she looked like but I didn't remember so she offered to take my order.
A guy was seated next to me and my original waitress magically appeared! She took his drink then food order. His plate came out before mine. I figured it was because I had ordered my burger medium well. đđđ
Soon after my plate was delivered, Zenobia came back to check on me. I told her that my home fries were cold but that it was okay, not a problem. She came back a couple minutes later and said that she had put in an order for fresh hot potatoes for me. They were delivered in less than 2 minutes. Great service.
Sophia, my original waitress, kept checking on the guy next to me, but never even acknowledged or looked at me. I asked her to please warm up my coffee. She did not look over at me or acknowledge me. But she came back with the pot and poured the coffee. I thanked her and then she had the nerve to say, Just so you know, Zenobia is your waitress. The one you gave your food order. She will be helping you. đł
Wait! Did she just... This little wet-behind- the-ears-pup? I started to react but bit my tongue because I did not want to embarrass her in front of the customer sitting next to me.
I watched her for a minutee. She was trying very hard to look busy but seemed to be wandering and not sure of what to do with herself. After the guy next to me left, she came and stood at the bar right next to me with her back to me and started chatting with two other employees.
Okay, this has gone far enough. I tapped her on her shoulder and quietly told her that she was extremely rude and that there was nothing wrong with me asking her to warm up my coffee whether or not she was my waitress and I reminded her that she was the one who brought my drink and then disappeared.
At first she tried to humbly explain, but then her lack of good sense and experience got the best of her and she started talking down to me and walked away with a snotty attitude.
My goodness! So many young people these days have no respect.
Zenobia checked on me several times. She was also in charge of a very large party of birthday celebrators.
I don't think anyone knew who my waitress was because no one brought me a check so I just went and stood by the cash register. Sophia came and offered to cash me out. As she was doing so, Zenobia came and offered to cash me out,... with a smile. I told her that Sophia was taking care of it, and thanked her for the...
Read moreUnfortunately our Saturday morning was interrupted by rude hostesses. Iâve been here many times and I have enjoyed the food and service. Who knows, maybe an off day⌠but allow me to break it downâŚ
We show up and immediately got sat. We were seated on the patio which was warm, but the sun was directly in our eyes. It was super uncomfortable and there was no way around it. We kindly asked to wait for a table inside and sat near the hostess stand (mind you, we had no issue waiting, but did have other things planned). My husband went out onto the patio and asked the nice woman bussing a table in the shade (a two person table) if we could sit in the shade at that table and she had zero issue with it. In fact, it was HER suggestion to move the 4 person table into the shade. Mind you, the patio was not full. We told the hostesses that we figured it out and so we continued to the patio to order our breakfast.
Shortly after that, one of the hostesses decided she needed to âspeak upâ in a very crass way (the hostesses words, not mine⌠though I have to say, I agree with her) and stated that we weâre essentially out of line for moving the table and that the woman bussing tables would have to walk extra to clean ours after. Walk extra? Like 2 extra feet away from the original spot they tried to seat us? Ridiculous. My brother, who happened to go to the bathroom before we went outside to get the table overheard the hostesses talking rudely about us. How we were âso annoyingâ and blah blah blah. Why is a simple table maneuver annoying when your employee suggested it? Also, if youâre concerned about the extra two feet to clean off a table (in the same spot she was already bussing one, keep that in mind) maybe you should help instead of talking trash about customers behind the hostess stand. I donât know, maybe that would actually do something positive? But what do I know. Iâve nEvEr worked in cUsToMeR sErViCe before (sarcasm, I have).
Me being me, I went to confront the hostesses on their âissueâ and came to the conclusion that is was best if we just took our money elsewhere. Just a bunch of bratty girls too busy not working and running their mouths. I didnât have time for it. But today is a new day, so I carved some time out of my Monday evening to post this honest review so that hopefully you will correct the attitude problem you have with your hostesses. Too early in the morning to deal...
Read moreBeing a disabled US Army veteran, I seriously loved and bragged about this Cafe until today. Today was if anything our twelfth time coming to enjoy brunch and mimosas as usual. Our last visit we came for brunch and it was our first time meeting the owner, Angie, who asked if we had any issues, 7/20/2019, which we responded no for we love the restaurant. This time, as weâre on our second craft mimosas and just served our food, Angie came to speak to us. She informed our party today she was âdoing great until someone complained of a cannabis smellâ. Weâve came before with a similar smell since weâre medical cannabis card holders, and nothing was said before. After informing of us having medical cards and apologizing for any inconvenience, we requested for to-go boxes and the check to pay. Angie then repeatedly said âNo. I rather you stay here.â After about 3 minutes of the owner and my partner and friend talking, which ended up being loud, the owner went back inside after informing if we ever wanted to eat from there again, we would have to order To-Go. She informed that we were âDrinking and druggingâ in the facility when we were just trying to eat. The table next to us informed they made no complaints and felt sorry about the situation having understanding. After 5 minutes of waiting for the to-go boxes and checks, we decided to just pay and leave. We stood in line, paid in full with military discount, and even tipped. As we were walking out to the car, Angie follows and takes pictures of us and our car. Once our friend realizes, she gets out to record the restaurantâs name and the owners actions, who then walked towards my friend aggressively. Again, we were loyal customers and loved everything about this cafe. Today I cried having an anxiety/PTSD attack from an owner who less than a week or so ago thanked me for my service and our business with the restaurant. I felt attacked and afraid, now afraid to suggest anyone to dine. I did not know because of my medical issues and the way I can only maintain the issue who cause a disturbance to a...
