I bought 2 pieces of cake, different flavors. I’m shopping around for a Red Velvet cake for personal reasons. I and the person I’m shopping around for a cake for are picky on cakes because we don’t like overly sugary frosting.. All i can say is wow, the 2 cake slices, Red Velvet and Chocolate Chiffon were the BEST, I’ve ever had. The chocolate chiffon, was super moist and their frosting (it’s a thick type of whip cream consistency) wasn’t overly sweet. I prefer whatever they use as the frosting. I’m kicking myself wishing i had bought myself a slice. The Red Velvet, was just as delicious as the chocolate chiffon. The fresh strawberries slices go very well with the Red Velvet flavoring. It elevates the Red Velvet cake flavoring. Like the chocolate chiffon, the red velvet was super moist. Their frosting wasn’t overly sweet. I absolutely in love with both cakes and so were the rest that tried them. I do have to say that their price for slices of cake isn’t Walmart price but a bit more than some are comfortable paying for, however, if you think in terms of preparation, the quality in the taste of the cake, the frosting and fresh tasting ingredients, it’s so worth it!!! I’m actually surprised the slices weren’t a bit more than what they currently are. I’ll pay for good quality, fresh tasting, moist and not overly sweet cake!!!! The staff were so friendly! The establishment was bright and fresh clean looking. Do know it’s a bit busy and I went in the mid morning on a Friday. I can’t wait try other things on their menu. I also don’t have to look any further for a cake, which is terrific for me!! The only thing I wish is that I could put an order in for a whole cake via order online rather than having to physically go there however, gives me an excellent excuse to try something else off...
Read moreLet me start by saying that Paris Baguette makes some of the best fresh-baked goods in Colorado Springs. The quality and taste are second to none, and I always look forward to their delicious pastries, breads, and treats. However, the service experience is painfully slow, especially during peak hours. I’m here on a Saturday around 11:00 AM, and I’ve now been in line for over 24 minutes with no end in sight.
At one point, there were 30 customers in front of me and 24 behind me, and there are only two registers with two cashiers working. This is simply not enough to handle the volume of customers, especially on a busy weekend morning when many people are here for breakfast or a quick pick-me-up. I can't help but compare this experience to other fast-service chains like Chick-fil-A or Dutch Bros, which are masters of efficiency. Both companies equip their employees with tablets that sync directly to the register and payment system, allowing employees to take orders and payments directly from customers while they’re in line. This system helps prevent long waits and creates a much smoother, more streamlined experience.
Paris Baguette clearly needs to invest in this kind of technology if they want to keep up with the demand and improve their customer experience. While the food here is exceptional, the long wait times and lack of efficiency make it difficult to enjoy the experience fully. If you're in a hurry, be prepared to spend quite a bit of time in line, and hope they decide to make some improvements to their checkout...

Con: customer service is uneven and sometimes just weird.
Ok so there something in the water here in terms of customer service. What is it with some of these young women they seem of have crippling anxiety from performing the simplest tasks. “Look up at customer”. “Smile”. “Respond to small talk”. “Take tray of pastries out and tell a customer what those pastries are”. I don’t know what the deal is but I realllllly don’t like interacting with the staff. They don’t seem knowledgeable and a few of them act like they’re lost or inconvenienced. It’s really weird.
Some of the most competent people here are great but there are others … really need another job talking to customers isn’t for you.
Also what’s up with the petty policies? You use a coupon (that you get from the app…) and they get all petty and pick the cheapest version of your purchase. It’s just lame. I’m already spending $60 here to just have a few pastries and a few coffees and I go there a few times a week. Why the pettiness?
Ok last thing. I know boxes aren’t free. But seriously I can’t walk out of there for less than $60. You want me to pay 10 cents a box? It’s trivial I know and I don’t care but it’s just petty.
Doesn’t suit the “premium” vibe at all. So it’s a mixed experience. Awesome food! Punishing...
