Let me start off by saying this place is not authentic Thai food if that's what you're searching for. What you will get is Chinese food that's decent to good for the Denver metro area.
My family member and I hurriedly arrived to the restaurant at 8:30 P.M. knowing that closing time was at 9 P.M. I was somewhat surprised when they told us we had to order take-out. I wasn't too happy about that, but at the same time can understand that they all just want to leave by a certain time.
Upon first stepping into the store and later as I'm waiting for our order to be ready, I noticed that the decor seemed a little off for a Thai restaurant. As I paid closer attention to the staff, I realized that no one looked Thai and as I tried to listen to their language, it dawned on me that they were not Thai, but most likely Chinese, possibly even Korean (due to bad hearing I couldn't hear well enough to distinguish the language).
The food that we brought home was pretty decent I must admit. Some of you will probably think this food is awesome, but having grown up eating SE Asian food on a daily basis, I can tell you that this is NOT it. It's just Chinese stir fry.
With a name like Thai Basil, I felt a little duped that what I got was typical Chinese cuisine. It's bad enough that great tasting ethnic cuisine is hard to find around here, but to find out it's not even authentic is an even bigger...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIt was just ok. Not bad but I wouldnāt eat here again. Absolutely nothing authentic about it. I order drunken noodles with chicken, Thai eggplant with steamed rice and Panang curry with steamed rice. The eggplant was delicious, the curry was just ok and the drunken noodles were some of the worst that Iāve ever had. Eggplant was really flavorful and tasted like it had some good wok char on it and the sauce was delicious and everything was really fresh. The Panang curry had decent flavor but definitely tastes like it came from a jar and the sauce was super runny. Not at all what a thick and rich Panang curry should be. It also had potatoes in it, which is weird. Only Masamune Curry should have potatoes in it, and I suspect that if I ordered any one of their other curries, it would be all of the same vegetables again. It was pretty generic and boring. The drunken noodlesā¦what a shame. It was like they took some pre-cooked noodles and chicken and heated them up in the microwave and stirred some overly sweet sauce in. There was no wok char on the noodles whatsoever and they were a little under cooked and were mostly just stuck together in big clumps. It was just off . There are a lot of Thai places to choose from and this one...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy order was delivered but also there was nothing nice about the brown bag, foam packaging! The food was also cold and mushrooms were not at all cooked. The chicken cutlets had been dipped in egg and then I'm guessing microwaved, since the meat was tough, and stringey, and there were No grill marks. (Or flavor! Not marinated. Not even soy or anything!) There were 5 tiny pieces of pineapple hiding under the Maybe 4 total small, raw mushrooms. It was all put on lettuce that was wet and wilted. There was No plum sauce at all, on the chicken nor with it! The egg rolls were rolled thick with soggy wrapper and some spoiled cabbage inside. Not crispy! No meat. Dipping sauce was cheap in a packet. A very bad dinner! And I only got a partial credit! They should be sorry for giving yucky food to a person who can't cook and can't afford to eat out. I lost 2 dinners of food because I make it last 2x. I'm very tired of being taken advantage of by our restaurants. Please let me know if you improve and want a new chance for a better review. I take my reviews very...
