Was barely greeted today by a less than enthusiastic employee when I walked in to order takeout. Not a big deal, everybody has their days right? She was not rude to me, she just didn’t look very happy to be there. You could tell easily by her body language and the way she spoke. I noticed an AirPod in one of her ears and thought to myself, I hope whatever she’s listening to is helping her get through the day. I get it, we all have stuff going on outside of work and we’re not always stoked to be there. I worked in the restaurant/service industry for over a decade at many places, some including fast casual style similar to trosmo. Everything from cashier/busser to host to server to cook to bartender to manager.
Anyway, she took my order which was a detox island green, buffalo chicken wrap with an extra side of buffalo, and s&v chips. Same thing I’ve gotten the last million times I’ve been to any location from Colorado to the Carolinas. I paid and she walked off without saying much or handing me my receipt. Didn’t think I’d need it and didn’t want to reach and grab it from their printer so I left it and took a seat. I get my smoothie quickly from her and when my food was finished, another employee brought it over and said “here’s your chicken bacon ranch have a nice day”. I go “uhm sorry did you say chicken bacon ranch? I ordered a buffalo chicken wrap”. She responds with “o I’m sorry, that’s what was rang in” and looks over to the girl who took my order. The cashier who rang me up then looks and me and says “no you ordered a chicken bacon ranch”.
That’s where I was motivated enough to write a review. I don’t want to come down too hard on this employee. She seemed like an honest young person, like good for her out here trying, but I don’t appreciate someone else lying straight to my face about what I said. I think what she meant to say was “I thought you ordered a chicken bacon ranch” or what she should’ve said was “I’m sorry I must’ve misheard you”. But no, a straight cold face looking at me saying I ordered something I didn’t.
I was kinda in shock having expected a response like “yeah sorry I meant buf wrap” or “oh my bad lemme make you what you asked for”. But nah, straight denial. After a moment of thought I decided I wasn’t about to have an argument with this girl about what I did or did not order. I’m not always good with confrontation so I said “alright it’s fine, I’ll just eat this, thanks have a good day” and left.
Honestly the flatbed wasn’t bad but it obviously wasn’t what I ordered. Getting the wrong order and then having a confidently incorrect employee telling you what you ordered is enough for me to write this and try a different location next time. Even if it’s a bit farther. Won’t stop going to trosmo bc it slaps after a long night. Just wanted to maybe give this girl a bit of a wake up call.
Maybe she would’ve heard me correctly if she didn’t have half her attention on whatever was playing in her AirPod. Maybe pause it and focus when taking orders. Or maybe she should’ve just admitted she was wrong instead of trying to divert the blame to someone else. Not trying to bash on her, once again she wasn’t malicious just hopelessly indifferent.
If she reads this, I’d recommend an adjustment to your attitude so you can perform your job adequately, or go find a different job please and thank you. Might be best for you to find something else to do for work if you’re like this often. You didn’t seem happy at all which isn’t great for business in that industry. I hope this helps you improve as an individual. I certainly have had some constructive criticism in my life and it’s made me a better person. Didn’t always love it in the moment but it helped in the long run. Tried my best not to be mean here but rather just share a small...
Read moreWent here with my kiddos a few days ago. Terrible experience, never again. My young teenage girl, Bella (15) has been BEGGING me to come here ever since she saw the smoothies on Tik Tok. Since we were free last weekend, I decided it was my job to fulfill her wishes. We were both really excited, we packed the car with me, Bella, and my youngest daughter Chelsea (9). Keep in mind, this smoothie café is about 40 minutes away from my house. One car ride full of lots of music and so much traffic later, we arrived. We went in the doors and there was only one girl behind the counter and an old man in the back sitting on the computer. It was a slow day so there was only one other person in line. When it was our time to order, we got 4 smoothies, 2 Strawberry, 1 Mango, and a Blueberry for my husband back at home. We also decided to try out some food since we were hungry. We got 4 wraps. This order was relatively big and I felt bad for the young girl behind the counter because no one came out of the back to help her make our food, I wanted to hop behind that counter and help her myself haha! Finally our drinks/food is ready. Honestly, wasn't that good, defiantly not worth the 40+ minute drive. The drinks were surprisingly good but were made with a ton of sugar, my kiddos were bouncing off the walls! The wraps were subpar. Anyways, I would not recommend coming here, even if your tik tok addicted...
Read moreGet the island green smoothie, my 10 and 7 yr old kids both approve! The island green has kale and spinach, but they don't even notice when paired with mango banana and pineapple. The smoothie is so yummy and perfect after a children's hospital visit or surgery. My son loved the sweet potatoes wedges and was able to eat it after tonsil surgery! This place is perfect for our family's health and food on the menue is beyond exceptional. My favorite food item offered is the shrimp wrap. The wrap could be at its best if they added more shrimp, but for now maybe ask for double like I do. Thank you for the wonderful customer service and being so close when...
