Over the years, we've had some ups and downs with Chipotle. Sometimes it's the food, other times it has been the service or cleanliness of the restaurant. It's the inconsistencies that can be frustrating. One visit, the food will taste great, then another visit, the rice will be hard, or it's lacking flavor.
About half the times we go, they will usually be out of something, like no white rice, a particular meat, or tortillas, but it's often a major ingredient.
There are also times when customer service is fantastic, and then there are times they have been rude and attempted to overcharge us for having things on the side that we didn't put on our burrito bowl. Just tonight, we got Chipotle, and they tried to charge us $1.45 for extra rice. As we were checking out, the total didn't seem right, so I asked why it seemed higher. They told us they were charging us extra for rice.
Their reasoning was that we asked for an extra scoop of rice. We explained that the reason we asked for an extra scoop of rice is because we come here often to eat and know how much rice goes in a bowl. The person serving the rice didn't put enough in the bowl. Then, one worker saw that we requested the extra scoop, but it was because we didn't get a normal amount. That person thought we wouldn't notice the $1.45 extra charge for rice when, in fact, we weren't getting any extra rice.
It would be nice if they had more consistency at their locations. If they don't have the proper staffing ,I'd rather walk up and see that they are closed, then go in and order subpar food while interacting with disgruntled employees who don't want...
Read moreAvoid this location if possible. Put in an online order at 3:30 for pickup at 5:10. Arrive at 5:10 on the dot, "we dont see your order in the system", show them confirmation code, "ok we'll get on that." Decide to leave and pickup kid from daycare and come back, to give them time to make the order and not crowd the lobby. Come back at 5:30, order still not ready, get the "we dont see your order" line again. Show them the confirmation code again, "im not seeing it" manager running the grill has been watching and laughing the whole time gets involved, we go back and forth on how to spell my 5 letter last name to look it up. finally find the order and print the receipt. wait another 30 minutes with a screaming, hungry toddler, still nothing. Manager, still laughing at the situation, comes up and forces the line to make the order and goes back to the kitchen. Order gets made, they wave me to the front and hand me the wrong bag, hand it back say its the wrong food and wrong name, they find the bag, i had to insist 6 times to check the order to make sure it was the right food, this finally happens, they bag it all up and set it on their online order prep counter and walk away to fuss with something in a refrigerator, I had to walk in to their kitchen to get my food. Get home, order was missing items. All I wanted was a kids and adults quesadilla and this took nearly 2 and a half hours to pull off and they still got it wrong. Choose a different location, this place needs way more...
Read moreOver the past 15 years or so, we've eaten at a lot of Chipotle locations around the country. Tonight was the first time I've ever walked out without ordering due to the condition of the restaurant. Normally, I praise/review in public, and take any serious concerns directly to management. In this case, there doesn't seem to be an easy to reach contact on the website, so I'm posting in public. I'll take this down once the concerns have been addressed. There was only one other customer in the store when I walked up (~5:30PM). The first thing that I noticed was that the parking lot and sidewalk had a significant amount of litter. That happens in Minnesota in the middle of winter when it's sub-zero and 2 feet of snow on the ground. But we're in a heat wave, we haven't had snow in a month, and temps are in the 50s. Compounding on the parking lot was trash in the entry way, on the floor in the store and on the utensils counter. And then I saw the assembly line - sour cream, cheese, salsa, rice and protein bits on the counter, 6 employees standing around. I didn't really look any further. Front end cleanliness is a symptom of overall lack of concern about food safety. I decided not to stay. I did ask to speak to the manager and explained to them exactly why I wasn't staying. And walked out. No sale, no burrito. No way. Chipotle leadership - feel free to reach out. I'll be happy to...
