Three of us ate here two had the Pollo Fundido, one had the Carne Asada. The Pollo Fundido was excellent, nicely spiced shredded chicken in a deep fried burrito topped with a sour cream sauce and loads of melted cheddar cheese. Delish! It was served with beans and rice. The char grilled Carne Asada steak was very tender and flavorful, highly recommend. The accompanying cheese enchilada was perfect. All meals were served quickly and the food was hot. The Coronarita Margarita was not good, the beer over powered the margarita. It lacked enough sweet and sour to blend with the Corona beer giving it the taste of a watered down beer rather than a margarita. Maybe just an off day as I did not see a full-time bartender behind the bar. The menu prices are fair. The restaurant is clean, the windows are clean, the bathroom was clean the walls and floor surrounding the table was clean. This is one of the better Mexican Restaurants in the Twin Cities. I would highly recommend it. Nothing fancy just good food. We only recommend the La Casita located in Columbia Heights. We have tried the Springbrook Dr, MPLS location three times definitely not as good.

Firstly, I would like to share that our waitress, Melissa, was very pleasant and attentive while my family and I dined here for the first time. However, the food quality/service needs some real improvement. I ordered slushy drinks for my children and a Piña Colada for myself. When the drinks arrived- I tasted my children's drinks to see which flavour was which. My son's tasted "different" than his requested mango flavor. Shortly after, our waitress Melissa came in a semi-tense state of being and stated that the bartender put my Piña Colada in my son's cup!? This was alarming for Melissa and myself. I'm so glad that on this occasion- I actually ordered a non-alcoholic colada. But again, this is a VERY SERIOUS OVERSIGHT on the bartender's behalf. You hear about this happening on the news and that is also why I always check my children's drinks- but you never expect it to happen to you... And it did here at La Casita. My children's meals came out incorrect and my son's refried beans had a long strand of hair in it. 😷 This all combined turned us off and we will not be back.

I recently dined at La Casita and had a pleasant experience overall. The food was good, fresh ingredients, nicely presented, and satisfying. What really stood out, though, was the excellent service. The staff was attentive, friendly, and made sure we felt welcome from start to finish. That said, while the dishes were enjoyable, the flavors didn’t quite reflect the bold, authentic taste typically associated with traditional Mexican cuisine. It felt more like a fusion or Americanized version, which might appeal to some, but those looking for a truly authentic Mexican food experience might find it lacking in depth and spice. Still, it’s a great spot for a relaxed meal and outstanding hospitality. Worth a visit if you're in the area.

Server: Fio Manager: Tamara Service was abysmal. After being seated, we waited 5 minutes before our server came over the greet our table. I ordered lemonade and my mother ordered a bottled beer. I got water with lemon and my mother waited 10 minutes for her beer. Ordered our meals and a small side of queso. Food comes out, no queso. I mention it to the food runner and she says she’ll let our server know. Halfway through our meal, the food runner brings out guacamole. I remind her it was queso that I asked for. She said she’ll tell my server and leaves the guacamole on the table. After we had already finished our meals, the server comes over for the first time since bringing the beer and acts exasperated that we didn’t get the queso. We tell her we no longer want it since we are already done with our food. The server brings the check and there is a $4 charge for guacamole on it. I reminded the server that we did not order guacamole, and she let me know that the manager refused to take the guacamole off of the bill because I didn’t refuse it when it was delivered. I ask for the manager and when she comes over she reiterates that I didn’t refuse the item I did not order, so now I must pay for the item I DID NOT ORDER. I let her know that I did, in fact, let the food runner know that I didn’t order the guacamole and she just left it on the table. Finally, with hesitation and an attitude, she removed the guacamole from the bill.

I’ve been a service industry professional for almost 30 years and I have NEVER heard of a business demanding you pay for something you didn’t order, and certainly not something they delivered by mistake. By that logic, they could bring anything to the table, leave it, and then be able to charge you for it. This is the first time I’ve been to this location of La Casita, though I’ve been to the Roseville location many times. While the service isn’t stellar there, either, they are at least moderately attentive and polite so if I ever decide to go back to La Casita, it will be at the Roseville location. Any seasoned restaurant professional knows that decent food (not even stellar, just decent) can not sustain a business alone. Quality...

2/14 was my first day visiting this place. Upon arrival we were not greeted and stood there for like a good 5 minutes while there was someone who actually works there just staring at us. I asked him if we have to wait to get seated or can we just go pick a spot. The guy was like no I can seat you. Mind you when we walked in without getting greeted is already an off vibe. I said to him “ok we have been standing here for a good couple of minutes” he was like “well you never came up to me and ask me what you want” with an ATTITUDE! I mean you work there i am sure you know how things works! Fast forward to the food, they had a valentines special going on for TWO that was $30. It said that you get extra proteins. I was like ok if this is for 2 then let’s do it. I asked the server 2 times if we will get our own plates (beans and rice and all the extra stuffs mentioned on the paper) she said yes! When we got our food, ee got 1 plate with a small portion of beans and rice and you can clearly see that it was 1 grilled chicken breast that they cut up which is for one person only, a normal portion of steak and well a good amount of grilled shrimp about 7/8 pieces. This tbh was literally the portion you would get if you had ordered from the regular menu i am sure. We had to order an extra side of rice and beans because the food was not much. The food tho was very tasty. You do wait a while to get served. I probably won’t dine in again. We spend about $80 for 2 people, honestly it was...

I accompanied my boyfriend and his family here for dinner prior to flying back home. I was the only person who ordered the spinach burrito, with everyone else ordering one with meat. Within an hour of returning to the family's house, I was sick with the worst food poisoning I have ever experienced. We cancelled two flights and I was nearly hospitalized.

I can understand that the food poisoning may have been a "fluke" situation, not the norm of an establishment which otherwise does not experience poor hygiene in regards to food preparation. However, this single star review is also to complain about the HORRENDOUS treatment we received when we called the establishment the next day to inform them of what had happened. The manager we spoke with was brusque to say the least, rude and dismissive. He acted as if, by informing him that he may have a contamination among his produce/poor washing habits by the preparatory staff, we were attempting to receive a "free meal" or something along those lines, and tried to diminish/dismiss our complaints. I have never experienced such rude behavior by someone in the restaurant industry, and would never EXPECT to be treated so poorly by an establishment that also nearly hospitalized me. I would not return here under ANY circumstances, and would offer zero stars if...
