I had ordered several pies to be a nice treat at my dad's memorial service, since we enjoyed the Peggy Jeans Pies from 25+ years ago. Paid over the phone and that staff member seemed kind and competent. When the time came for my friend to pick up the pies since I live out of state now, they claimed they were not paid for and made my friend wait 25 minutes while being rude to her about the pies being paid for. I sent proof of my payment, but the manager said that isn't possible because I couldn't pay online (despite us telling her I paid over the phone...). When they finally found the payment they were still rude, claiming an unrealistically high number of their pies never get paid for so that's why they were acting the way they were??? If this were a business I was associated with, I would offer SOMETHING as an apology. Then when we served the pies, one wasn't the same as ordered (was told lemon creme but it was something else). My husband even commented how he couldn't believe I wanted to order from this place because the pies were so unspectacular! I feel like maybe even a frozen French silk pie from Walmart would have tasted better, and that honestly breaks my heart. I'm not sure what happened to them over the years, but I think it's time they rethink their business plan, retrain their staff on proper customer service, and improve their recipes if they want to stay in business much longer. What a disappointment.
Edit to add- I asked for a receipt to be emailed to me because of reimbursement purposes. On the phone she said she would email it but give it an hour. I got added to the email list and got a "thank you for your first visit" email, but never a receipt. I assumed they forgot so I had my friend request a receipt when she picked up. They said to her they would text me a receipt. Nothing ever came to me. I don't feel like I should have to request a receipt from a business...
Read moreI guess you could call me a PJP Super Fan. I've put PJP on a pedestal and I plan to leave them there. First, have you ever made a pie from scratch? Because they've made thousands and I trust they know what they are doing. Pie making is an art and they've perfected it. Obviously, the pies are delicious. I rocked the boat and served wedding pie instead of cake. PJP made me both full size pies and jelly jar pies for each guest. Everyone was raving! One of my best friends rounded the tables at the end of night and put uneaten pies in her purse because you do.not.waste. these pies. Personal favorites? Peach praline, you make my life complete. I also adore Chocolate Bourbon Pecan. Ok, let's not forget White Chocolate Strawberry. Jeanne (the "Jean") created the recipe for the WCStrawberry and it is truly remarkable. These fabulous ladies are a riot (read Rebecca's blog and you'll be shouting "PREACH" to your computer screen) and their prowess in pie making is sure to bring PJP to #worldpiedomination . Have you...
Read moreMy family and I took a day trip. We were looking for something sweet and local when I came across Peggy Jeans Pies. We got (3) 6 inch pies because there was no way we could just settle on one flavor. I only wish we had gone earlier in the day and not 30 mins before it closed. While there was still a ton of flavors there was a few flavors I wish we would have been able to get but I'm sure sold out earlier in the day. We got the banoffee, custard cherry, and peach praline. They are incredible! Filled perfectly, the crust so golden, flakey and the fruit is the perfect amount of sweetness. The cherries the perfect amount of sweet and tart. That custard cherry pie only leaves me wishing I had been able to get the cherry. I also wish I had purchased some of the savory pies like pot pie or beef roast pie. I will get those the next time and there definitely WILL be...
