I decided to try China Kitchen in Forest Acres after hearing a lot of back and forth about which restaurants were better. I’ve already been to the other place, so I wanted to see how this one compared. Ordering here is a bit different ; you order behind glass, talking through microphones, with food box to receive your food. It’s not very personal, but I did notice they have returning customers, so clearly some people really like it. I ordered two entrées: 7-piece garlic pepper wings and bourbon chicken, both with fried rice and sweet tea. It only took about 10 minutes, and when I got home 20 minutes later, the food was still hot. The bourbon chicken was disappointing ; it tasted and even looked more like sweet and sour chicken, not bourbon. I’m not sure if my order got mixed up, but I know what bourbon chicken is supposed to be, and this wasn’t it. The garlic pepper wings had plenty of pepper but almost no garlic and were lacking flavor overall. The fried rice was decent, especially after adding soy sauce, and the sweet tea was exactly what I expected , I really enjoyed that. Overall, I’m giving it 3 stars. It was better than the last place I tried, but the food missed the mark for me. In Columbia, it’s been hit or miss, and this was a miss. Unfortunately, I feel like I wasted both...
Read moreIf I could rate below one star, I would rate this restaurant a negative 100. The customer service is horrible. I gave my order to the young lady and I ordered my rice without eggs in it because of an allergy (which I told her) and she mumbled my order back to me and left off the egg part. So I kindly reminded her about the eggs and she yelled across the entire restaurant, at me, that she heard me and that I did not have to repeat myself to her. When I received my order, I had a question about my order and she started yelling at me in front of the other customers. She told me me that " I should read the fanned sign in the window next time" and when I asked her what her problem was she just kept on yelling at me to read next time. She was so nasty that the Customer in line behind me told me that she was not going to spend her money here because she heard how nasty that girl was with me, and that same customer showed me how to go on line to do this review. I know that because of that nasty attitude and verbal abuse I received today is the reason that I will never go to China Kitchen on Forest Dr. again. Even if I was illiterate, that cashier was way out of line. That one star that I gave in the beginning of this review is too high of a...
Read moreI am visiting from California and this restaurant came highly recommended for its wings and fries. Excited to try it, my aunt, my little sister and I went in around 1:40pm today (5/1/24) and the Asian lady's service was ABSOLUTELY disrespectful and VERY unpleasant! I began to order right after my aunt ordered and as I'm trying to ask the lady (the "EMPLOYEE") about the flavors and sides she continuously cuts me off mid-sentence to ask me if I'm ready or know what I want yet. So then, when I stated that it was my first time (trying to brush off the possible bad moment when I shouldn't have to) and that I was wanting to put a meal together she rolls her eyes, looks at the other cashier (black lady who wasn't rude but also said NOTHING to stop this other lady from treating PAYING customers like trash or like WE OWE HER something). I didn't get to order my food bc I trusted that she may tamper with it based on her attitude! After being in upper management and retail/sales for years, I wouldn't even suggest a retraining, I would suggest TERMINATION. I am not even sure how this restaurant is still in business with this woman working as the face. You don't have to take this treatment! Stop paying just for FOOD and start paying...
