Ok, so not sure what the hype is about this restaurant, but here is my review. First they did not have sweet tea, I mean this is south who does have sweet tea, so we had the jamica, good, and horchata, which was basically milk. Now the food we order a beef and a chicken tamale, the beef was really good, but the chicken was dry and not that great. My husband ordered the birria quesadilla and was not that impressed. I have the Rojas chicken enchiladas and they were good, not great but good. The service was less than impressive as our drinks were empty before someone noticed and rarely did our server check on us and they were not busy at all. Now the atmosphere, not aure what they are trying to accomplish with the decor but it is very day of the dead but it looks more like a night club because they even have a DJ Stand and laser lights. So, overall i think it caters to the students and more of an americanized mexican restaurant, but this is a place we will not revisit.

We really liked the food, atmosphere and service was pretty good. I am Gluten free and I was very impressed with all the options. We ordered birria tacos- delicious, a burrito but came out as a bowl- steak was fantastic, rice and toppings very flavorful, and the taquitos-these were good, big chucks of chicken inside. These were the bad- the men's restroom was very dark (blue light only) kind of sketchy, the register in the front didn't seem to work so our credit card was gone for a bit trying to run it, our bill (which my husband never checks before paying) was almost $10 more that what we thought. The lunch prices are not what we were charged- ex. side of guacamole was $8 not $4, cheese & street corn were $5 not $4, burrito was $3 more than marked. We would still go back in the future when in town. And we would definitely recommend the house margarita too.

I will have to go back to make a better review because the food was so good, I forgot to take a picture! The server was polite and was so good at her job, she didn’t have to write anything down. Our food arrived quickly, but if you come in hungry it’s perfectly ok, they start you off with chips and salsa. I had the chicken quesadilla with the house made guacamole and ordered a side of queso as I’m not a fan of salsa alone. I don’t drink, but every alcoholic beverage they brought out looked delicious. I went as soon as they opened, so it wasn’t very busy. Parking was the most difficult part. There are a few parking spots designated to the business in a parking structure, but if you’ve never visited the restaurant, you wouldn’t know where to find it. Luckily, I asked someone who knew where to find it.

Great new urban, modern mzo Cali resteraunt in the Downtown area . Right near California dreaming. Pking is a real hassle. Beware there are college divas who think that are God's gift to men here that will cuss you out if you look hotter than them or dress in mote than hoochie mama shirt shorts. So, there is surprisingly a young college co Ed crowd, while I wore a black dress and heels and felt free to express myself that I fit the dressed code appropriately. Perhaps, some people need to keep their opinion to themselves on matters that don't otherwise concern their attire. In any case. The food was delicious. The atmosphere was superb. They have a decadent chocolate lava shell dessert which they will light on 🔥 and flambe with I believe some Kahlua or similar liquor. It is not to be missed. It tasted like Smores with ice cream. They have a naughty street slang o. The ladies bath room. I will leave the pics. But if your looking fir great mexi cali in a new urbane atmosphere. You may have to tune out some of the young millennial patrons. Especially if u bring ur A fashion game. They may just malfunction and have a millennial meltdown. Bc they can't hang when an older more respectable couple comes dressed in a suit 🧥, khakis and a black dress and heels. Reservations are recommended. It is a new venue but popping. It's next to impossible to...

A let down.

We were really looking forward to anticipating a good meal with a fun atmosphere. We had been watching their social media posts and looked fun, and good food/ drinks.

Price wise, not bad, we got 4 menu items and 1 alcoholic beverage $70 ( including tip)

Unfortunately, It was such a disappointment & food was mediocre at best. We got the texanas fajitas, they were not bad… the burria egg rolls sounded cool and different but were greasy, flavorless and just underwhelming, and then lastly we decided to give the Mexican sushi a go and by god I wish I hadn’t because it was one of the most atrocious dishes I’ve had in my life…. I mean if you’re going to go out of the box and do Mexican sushi you better nail it, stick to Mexican my friends.

I’ll also add that there is like 100 menu items that’s just ridiculous, it makes deciding overwhelming and when I asked about a dish the server didn’t even know it was on the menu or even what it was… seeesh you guys! Server was nice but that’s about it.

Place has potential and a cool venue but if it doesn’t improve it’s service, and food I see them...

I had a mediocre experience here. The food was just average - my quesadillas needed more seasoning and didn't come with salsa (even though salsa was listed on the menu) but it did come with guacamole. I found it odd that it didn’t come with sour cream, lettuce, or tomato. The mango margarita with tajin rim was a highlight, and the churros were okay. However, the prices are steep for what you get. My bill was $46 before tip, and they also tack on a service fee for using a credit card, which feels excessive. Our waitress was friendly, but seemed overwhelmed, possibly due to being the only server on duty - they even forgot one my friends’ food.

I also want to mention that I called ahead to ask if they could store some ice cream in their freezer while we dined, and they agreed. However, when I gave the ice cream to our waitress, it apparently wasn't stored properly. When we left, two of the bars had melted completely, and the others were starting to melt. The box didn't even feel cold. Now, my $16 worth of ice cream is ruined. Extremely...
