I had ordered a small house salad to go with a cup of she crab soup. When I inquired about the small size how salad I was told it was $11.95 & the large was $17.95 & That the she crab soup comes in a bowl inside however you can only get it in a cup through to-go but it is the same price as a bowl for $9.95.. I went over the toppings with the to-go order person for the salad.. She said it had lettuce, turkey, ham/ bacon, tomatoes, almonds, I enquired about eggs & cheese & croissant- she said oh yeah that too.. So I ordered the small salad without ranch dressing without the Turkey or Bacon or Ham or Croissant & added onions- Inquiring if they charge just for 1 slice of onion she said let me check, no we don't, So I reiterated the order making sure to say no crouton's no croissant no turkey no ham no bacon no crackers.. But I was very confused about them charging the same price for a cup or a bowl of She Crab Soup.. So I just asked for a manager to clarify.. So the manager Scott came to the phone and explained when they do a to-go soup they only have a large cup that will still hold a bowl.. I said okay now I understand.. but it wasn't clear when I asked for technically enough to be equivalent to a bowl for the same price. Then enquired if they put Sherri in the she crab soup he was not sure if they had any in stock so he put me on hold because I said she crab soup is not she crab soup without Sherri in/on top, he came back on the phone and he said yes we have some.. .. We went over my order again.. Everything seemed like it was going to be fine. Order was placed over the phone @ 454pm, arrived at 521pm, called told them my spot, waited another several minutes.. got my food, everything appeared to be correct but handed her back the crackers because she had to go inside to get change.. when she brought the change back she did not leave me enough change to tip her.. I scrounged up $3 because the coin part she had already kept .81 (so she would at least get $3.81) so my side salad w she crab soup was $27.00- which is a lil pricey.. Then when I got home I realized that they charged me for cheese even though I left off the turkey the bacon the ham the croissant the crackers.. So I called and they she said omg, I'm so sorry, you are right, maybe my manager added that by accident, we can refund you. I said How are you gonna refund me when I paid cash and I'm already home.. so I said I will bring the receipt in tomorrow when I'm back in the area, I have to pass by tomorrow, she said ok, I will let my manager know. And then I received a phone call back & she said oh the salad doesn't come with cheese my manager just told me! Unbelievable!!! BAD MISCOMMUNICATION, BAD TRAINING... obviously between the staff & the management. They were nice but uninformed. Pretty disappointing as I have had large parties there before in the past, have been there many times on a boat, sent other tourists there who did not want to drive downtown or the beach but wanted to dine on the water. I just think customer service is really bad, especially for the prices. They don't even know what they are serving. Btw, the sherry was already IN the She Crab Soup, I...
Read moreAbsolutely phenomenal! The food superb, the service outstanding, and I can highly recommend this place for a date night. DETAILS: We placed a reservation for 8:15pm for a table for 2 though google maps (should have a make reservation button when you look it up that can be used to do this). Upon arrival we checked in with the receptionist which informed us that they were running about 10 to 15 minutes behind getting the tables ready for those that had reservations. Exactly 8:30 pm, we were brought to our table as it was finished being cleaned. Overall, not bad even with having a slight additional wait. We started with an order for our waters and the croissants. The croissants were fresh, fluffy, and came with honey butter on them, leaving them with a sweetened glazing that certainly makes you wish you could start everyday with one. If you seek a sweet to finish off a meal without going for some heavily sweet dessert, these croissants will definitely do the trick. Next came my house salad, which was excellent, and my 2 racks of ribs with mashed potatoes. The BBQ sauce was extraordinary sweet, thick, bold, and filled to the brim with flavor. I would guess some molasses was used with how sweet and thick it was. In any case, it paired with the rack of ribs seamlessly. I enjoyed my mashed potatoes as well, but I could not stop myself from savoring every bite of those ribs. Most importantly, we had an outstanding server named Brandon. We never ran out of drink, nor was there ever a time he was not there when we would need him. Personally, a waiter like Brandon that continuously keeps a drink ready for me so I am not having to ask for a refill, is worth their weight in gold. My date also ordered a brownie dessert that had ice cream with it. Extremely rich in chocolate and therefore a recommendation for those thay are chocolate lovers out there. We had our check brought to us, they took my card to charge it, and brought it back with no issue. I have no complaints other than the slight wait, which was a miniscule issue. This place definitely earns 5 stars especially for the price to quality of food and service. This review was written the same night as our visit and I had already started on the ribs before I thought about getting a...
Read moreIf I could give more stars, I would! This place was amazing! We love California Dreaming in Augusta so we figured we would try this one in Downtown Cola. They did not disappoint! Not sure why they don't have 5 stars across the board because they definitely deserve it! The waitress we had was AHHHMAZING and very attentive, super friendly. The food was fantastic! We had the fried crab claws as our app. They were soooo good! My husband had the seafood platter with fish, oysters, and shrimp and he said it was good except the fish could have been cooked a little longer (this was the only thing wrong with our visit), and I had the steak and shrimp with loaded mashed potatoes. I ordered my steak medium-rare and it was cooked to perfection! It literally melted in my mouth and was full of flavor. We chose the caesar salads, and as always the salads were fresh, and the croissants were amazing as usual! I love the atmosphere as well, and the fact that the CD franchise opted to use an old train depot as their location. It's spacious so you aren't sitting right on top of others and have plenty of room. The floorplan is pretty open, you can see where they prepare the food. The bar is elegant as they come and sparkles! I am a sucker for historical landmarks and to be inside this train depot from the early 1900s just amazed me! I didn't want to be rude to the other guests so I didn't do this, but I wanted to just indulge in every detail...if I could have walked around and looked closer, I would have. The high ceilings are beautiful! This is a must-do/must-see location, even if you don't want to go in and dine, at least go walk around the premises and take photos of the outside and look at the ceilings inside. This place is kept super clean, the grounds are clean. The bathrooms were clean but...
