Don't come here unless you want bad food and bad service. Came here today at 5:09pm (they reopen at 5) got around 3-5 minutes after walking in. Waiter takes our drink order gives us our drinks then disappears for 10 minutes. Had to stare him down just to put in our app order. Order the spicy feta and the falafel. Waiter comes back 20 min later after walking around in the kitchen and putting in other tables orders. Which yes they were a few people in there like 2 tables before we walked in (again came in 9 minutes after they opened). But he seemed to be serving these tables instead of putting just even our apps in. Comes back after 20 minutes saying "sorry about that wait guys" but with no food in his hand... sorry about the wait and I don't even have my app yet? Ok takes our order and when I request to have grilled tomatoes added to my grilled veggies he asks his coworker which her reply is to turn over to us an exclaim "idk that's a question for the boss🤷♀️" hmmm ok. The server proceeds to walk around some more servicing the 1 or 2 other tables he has? Which he's way more attentive too. He finally bring out our apps around 5 mins after taking our entree order to which he comes out with the falafel and the bread for the spicy feta dip but no spicy feta..."sorry guys we're actually out of spicy feta is there anything else you would like" It took you 25 almost 30 minutes to tell me you were out of something? Then you still bring the bread out? Smart thinking amiright? Throughout more waiting for the entree he refills my friends drink 3 TIMES and purposely doesn't refill my sweet tea even when I put it at the end of the table. Probably because I was the one being vocal about all this. At this point I'm irritated he's actively avoiding our table which if you're going to be a server and scared of black people you need to just say that I rather know I'm gonna get shitty service than spend my money and people expect me to feel sorry for them like they're a charity case just because they're a "small business" but I'll get to that. I flag him down (while he's putting in somehow another order even tho there's 6 tables including us and his coworker has most of them). And ask "what did your boss say about the grilled tomatoes can you do them?" "Oh no". Ok so why didn't you just come and tell me that instead of waiting till my food comes out to disappoint me but apparently people think the "act scared of the customer and avoid them" will get them an increased tip percentage. I get my food and lamb is overcooked, the vegetables are soggy and everything lacks any type of salt. Which I get might be geared towards an older audience but they're not salt and pepper shakers on the table nor was I offered any but guess who was? The table diagonal from us that was being service a lot more attentively by him. I wonder why... I end up taking 3 bites of my food and not touching the rest. My friend was able to eat about half of his pizza soaked in grease but I immediately started feeling nauseous after starting my food which is why I stopped. Not once did he check up on me or ask about my experience with my food and lmaooo still no refill at this point for a $3 16oz glass of sweet tea. I ended up getting Togo because I was going to try and see if I could muster up and appetite for it later at home nope lol. Ended up throwing the whole thing up. Called back for a refund asked to speak to a manager and told him about my poor service to which he kept on repeating "no I can not give you a refund" and "I'm a small business how can I do that" the same way you can give me lackluster food that made be throw up and employ someone that gives me shitty service that way. Which I told the manager about my whole experience wasn't apologetic at all just was saying "no one else complained" I'm sure they didn't and I'm sure you weren't glaring at any of your other customers from the kitchen to them at their table. You knew exactly who I was because your waiter complained to me to you during the shift lol I'm not stupid I work at...
Read moreWe visited Green Olive when our usual go-to Mediterranean restaurant was closed on a Saturday. We were seated immediately by our server, Alexander, who took our drink and appetizer order. Food arrived quickly, and it was plentiful - especially the Turkish bread, which was hot out of the oven and larger than the plate! We started our meal with the Green Olive Sampler, which had in-house hummus, baba ghanoush stuffed olive leaves, and falafels. Everything was fresh and delicious, and just the right portion size. For entrees, we ordered the falafel wrap and the chicken wrap (both of which had lettuce, tomatoes, pickled purple cabbage, and tahini sauce, and came with a side of fries). Again, everything was fresh, attractively presented, and delicious! Our server, Alexander - who appeared to be the only one working the dining room - was attentive to all customers and very pleasant.
For those diners who are not food adventurous, or have children who are picky eaters, the Green Olive offers traditional Italian favorites such as chicken parmesan, fettuccini alfredo, and pizza.
The restaurant is not over done in decoration, but bright and comfortable with large booths as well as tables. The ladies room was spotless - much appreciated as many restaurants do not give this vital room much attention. Parking on Saturday was on street, and since the restaurant is outside of the Five Corners area, Saturday parking was free - always a plus. We had a wonderful, filling, and delicious meal - and have found a new Mediterranean...
Read moreIt was a sunny day and we were going to the sandwich restaurant next to here. As we walked we noticed this restaurant and the atmoshphere was rather quiet and seemed somewhat relaxing with what seemed like Turkish music playing at the background. Fast forward, I ordered a spicy chicken wrap which was rather tasty which came in a basket which was rather less presentable than I thought it would be. My next order was a lamb curry that came with rice. It was obvious that red chilli powder was sprinkled over the dish and the rice as well. One mouth of it made me frowned right away. I know I am Chinese and I eat a lot of Chinese food however, I am no stranger to Turkish which many of my friends parents used to feed me once in a while when I visit them in New York. They were nothing close to what my friend's parents gives me and rather surprisingly closer to the Chinese food u eat at Panda Express. I have no say about the other dishes but this was what I ate today and that will be what I...
