What a miserable experience! if you have an opportunity to eat here: DON'T!!!!!!!
We had eaten here when it first opened and was pleasantly surprised. The manager at that time even went table to table to check to make sure everything was going well. What a downward change in a few months!!
We arrived with the place packed due to a kids eat free promotion. The bartender came over to be our waiter. But he was too busy to continue. He did serve coffee--luke warm. We placed our order, someone else brought out the appetizer after a long wait. That was the last we saw of any service. We stopped one waiter to ask for a water refill. He told us he would take care of it. After that, he passed our table multiple times carefully avoiding looking at us. It was comical Finally we tracked down the manager, a young woman. She chirpily apologized, announced they were short handed (which no one told us) and that the waiters were inexperienced. She was happy not to charge us for the meal that never arrived, but gave us the bill for the appetizers. Then she disappeared. I gave someone a card for the bill, waited a long time for it to be brought back. No one came for the signed receipt so left it on the receptionist's podium
The rudeness and lack of caring was surprise. We wrote a letter (snail mail) to the General Manager of HyVee weeks ago. No response.
Again if you have an opportunity to eat here:...
Read moreWe bring our 90 year old Uncle here quite often. I would guess we've been here at least 25 times. So we have enjoyed it most of the time. There is an issue with steaks. My uncle ordered steak last night. Our waitress was on her 2nd day.( not sure why she wasn't trained longer). She was nice and doing her best. After 65 minutes we received our meal. I had Scallops and asparagus that had obviously been sitting in a warmer and my uncle could not cut his $25 filet. It was dried out and weird cut. (He has ordered steak in the past and same thing. 1 hour passed and they said your steak was burned so cooking you a new one.) My thoughts are cooks need training in this department. We love the convenience of the market grille. Things seem to be lacking lately. I tipped the waitress 25% even after this. It seems your going through staff. Lots of new faces. Take time to give them proper training. My uncle said no more steaks! Need...
Read moreWednesdays they have a $5 all you can eat soup and salad bar. It's a very good bar. The atmosphere is a mix of bar, food, and Salad bar. The bar has several TV's and a wide selection of rotating beers. Not sure how to rate the table service. First time since the remodel, I had great friendly service. Tonight, no service. I'm okay either way. I just don't know what to expect, where to pay. I came for the salad bar and a dark beer but never got waited upon. I just dont know what to expect. Let's see if anyone is listening.
