Marble Slab Creamery — Restaurant in Columbia

Worst experience I ever had at any Marble Slab location. First thing, the whole staff that worked tonight was new per the manager Alex. Second, the young lady that helped me said you only get 2 mix in I said well how is that when I've been coming here for years. She didn't ask her manager she procecced to make my order. I mentioned to my fiance that things have changed and we should start going back to the location on Harrison that we always go to. So he asked Alex, the manager what changed. Alex said well the ice cream is made in house everyday and is the base of everything so what is your question. The question was when did it change that you can only get 2 mix ins. Alex then said oh no that didn't change you can get whatever you want but the more you get the less you get like if you get strawberries and sprinkles you can only get 1 M & M. Then Alex said in front of his staff and other customers that there are other ice cream shops you can go to and you don't have to come here. As a manager myself for a state agency and also in the customer service field you don't talk to customers like that, and you definitely don't set that negative example for your staff. Not only am I posting this because of the way Alex treated me and my fiance as customers I am posting this because the way he reprimanded a member of his staff in front of customers. If you staff is new you train them you don't talk down to them if they are learning. The young man was making my fiancee's milkshake and Alex yelled at him you don't make milkshakes on the slab that's dumb. But if this young man is a new employee and this is his first night you should have pulled him to the side and explained to him what he was doing wrong and why he didn't need to mix the millshake on the slab. I will NOT be a patron of the Marble Slab at Woodhill Mall on Garners Ferry Road again. The young people that were working in there were EXCELLENCE however, the leader the manger was RUDE and...

Review concerns this specific location, not the entire business. The location at Colombiana is top notch. Really curious how two different locations of the same franchise can provide entirely opposite experiences. We couldn’t even get service at this location.

At the entrance, there was a massive line of people, and once we made our way in, we waited for 15 min for the line to not even move by one person. The same customer ladies that stood at the front were still there when we left.

There were three associates on the clock, all moving around lousily and barely getting anything done. I’m honestly fascinated how they didn’t even get to one customer in our 15 minutes of being there. The image of one of the associates waddling her way out of the back room while slowly peeling a banana will stay with me until the end of my days.

Spare yourself the trouble of funding the people working here and go 10 minutes NW towards the Colombiana location. Marble Slab’s ice cream is actually good, it’s the people that bring this...

Service was good. Place is clean the young lady Hannah was super sweet and very good service from her. Will be coming back More. This place helps young people to get a chance to get a job because most places need experience and most of the young people here don't have that so people who got complaints need to think about that and support this place. Their ice cream is very good and has gotten even better. The place is clean just people don't see what go's on all day with many people coming in and they don't have time to clean every second because they do stay busy. But it is clean. Yes could use some upgrades and investments to make it better but for the most part this is a very good place and I would come back. The Manger is very nice and helpful .
