Tokyo Grill — Restaurant in Columbia

Tonight I put in a mobile order after traveling from out of town. I submitted the order online and it told me that my order would be ready in 15 minutes. Upon pulling into the parking lot, it had only been two minutes since I submitted my order so I decided to stay in my car and wait a few more minutes. at this time, I saw an employee bringing a trashcan in. He did not return to the restroom to wash his hands. This is when he quickly prepared someone’s food, as I could see from the window.. I would find out later that was my food. He proceeded to grab the other employee and they decided to have a smoke break, in front of the restaurant. I sat in my car the full 15 minutes, wondering if they were going to go back to work. Finally, I walked in, and they followed behind me. He did not wash his hands again and handed me my food. So my food was now 15 minutes cold, I was not greeted or even acknowledged. Of course the food went immediately into the trash because I’m not eating something that someone has touched with their disgusting hands. Of course there’s no corporate phone number and when you call the phone lines, it says this phone is disconnected. This will be the last trip to Tokyo...

If you want great prices for average food and unwelcoming environment, this is the place to go!

Look forward to all the signs that tell you what you can't do, no public bathrooms, don't reach over the counter, don't touch the cups. I'm so glad those are there to remind me of what not to do at a place I don't work at.

Portion size is perfect for the price you pay, but if you get thirsty, they won't provide a cup for water, they only sell bottled.

The food tasted ok. We've been to plenty Asian restaurants and gotten teriyaki or hibachi chicken, this was missing something with the flavor though.

The place is decently clean.

Hopefully you don't experience this, but the head person or manager was extremely condescending to her employee. The poor girl is probably new, but that is NO way to treat a person. Yelling at her while customers are present and then telling her what she's supposed to do in a nasty tone isn't going to teach anyone anything except bitterness.

Probably why people don't eat in when we went there, most people that we saw take their food to go.

I’ve been going to this location since childhood and my last few visits left me unbelievably disappointed. The recent management changes and revolving door of employees has taken this place drastically down hill. Due to this the quality and customer service is a haunting shadow of its former self. The food is no where near the same quality. Nowadays it’s bland and room temp by the time they give it to you after you’ve waited for it for about 30mins-1hr. The lady at the register is extremely rude and is constantly in the back. When she takes your order she yells in your face while communicating to the chief who cooks everything at an extremely slow pace while before majority of the food was already prepped and ready to go when you get there. Please go to any other location, as they do not have any of these problems. I hope upper management takes action as one of their original stores is no longer representing the quality of service that has been on display for...
